New foe

Everyone stepped into the house. Calista was again struck by the beauty of the house. There were only two colors in the house,white and gold.

How beautiful!

The house was well kept and everything sparkled with beauty making Calista's jaw drop with shock and amazement but she got hold of it right before anyone could see how carried by everything she was.

There were paintings on the walls and they all looked beautiful and filled with life.

"This is your house now Mrs Royal,"Sage spoke. She was still wrapping her hand around her tiny waist.

Calista smiled uneasily.

Mrs Royal?...and my house?

She never in her life wanted to earn anything without any of her hard work involved. Ofcourse she was now married to Maverick but still,that did not change anything. None of these belonged to her,not even her sister Izara but they all belonged to Maverick and the woman he loved, Addison.

"That's very nice of you to say but that's not true. All these should belong to the woman he really..."she started but a sudden shriek made her swallow her following words.

"Daddie!"a young boy called from the stairs while running towards Maverick. He was so cute and Calista guessed that he was just five years old or less.

"Jayden, don't run around like that.You may slip and get hurt,"Dianna warned but the boy seemed not hear her at all and kept running downstairs.

The boy had dark brown hair just like Mr Atlas's.

He had small pink lips and such a cute nose. His eyes possessed a beautiful hazel color. He was in a black short and white gucci shirt. He wore white sneakers. He had a cool spiky hair cut parted to the side. He skin looked very soft and healthy.

The boy happily pounced on Maverick who was squatting with his arms wide open and a sweet smile on his face. He looked just like a perfect dad,making Calista smile at him with much adoration in her eyes.

But as per usual,some questions began running in her mind.

'Is this handsome boy really his son? Then who was his mother? Addison?.. Definitely not. Addison did not even have a character of motherhood at all!'she thought and corrected herself.

"How are you my boy? You look very handsome today. What's the secret?"he asked as he broke his embrace and carried him with a single arm.

"The secret is my beauty sleep and taking a lot of water and fruits. You know what daddy,aunt Sage says that if I follow my healthy routine each day then I will be more and more handsome,"the boy spoke.

'He has such a beautiful voice as well!' Calista mused as they all sat around the huge glass dinning table. Mr Atlas sat on the left side to his wife. At Dianna's right hand was Taylor then Casey.

At the other side sat Eddy at Mr Atlas's opposite seat and Sage sat next to him then the little boy followed by Maverick and Calista at the last seat beside Maverick and opposite Casey who took every chance she had to throw deadly glances at Calista and smirk evilly but Calista ignored all that.

She looked at Maverick then at Jayden and compared their beauty.

'Maverick is more than beautiful. Young man you have a way to go,'she spoke inwardly as she compared their beauty. She shut her mind from thinking such and why is she even comparing the father son,duo?

"Hhm,aunt Sage is very right my boy. I also have a healthy routine to follow you know and I always do that and that's why am very charming,"he responded in a low voice then winked at him but everyone at the table heard him and chuckled happily.

'Now this is new,he also has a sense of humor! Indeed the world is full of wonders!'Calista continued musing inwardly with a sweet smile on.

"Daddy,is this my new mum? She really is very cute. I want to have such a beautiful wife when I grow up as well,"the boy spoke making Maverick frown deeply while everyone else burst out laughing.

Calista too smiled sweetly at him.

'Now, I can agree that this boy really is his son!'Calista continued herself address but her lips only possessed a beautiful smiled.

Somehow Maverick did not like his son's joke. Like seriously, does he think there would be a woman as beautiful as his wife,maybe there future kids,he thought, surprising himself.

Why was he even thinking of having kids with this girl! He would only have kids with Addison if they finally get married.

He pushed away his displeasure and gave the boy a smile.

"I don't think there is any other woman as beautiful as your new mom Jayden,"Maverick answered and everyone at the table fell silent.

Was he like seriously praising a girl's beauty!? He had never done that,not even praising Addison.

There was a disappointed look on Jayden's young face.

They all looked at him with amusement as Sage, Taylor and Eddy wore funny smiles.

Calista was dumbstruck. Did he mean that? She felt like smiling but a blush appeared instead.

Casey on the side was simply annoyed. These people had been praising Calista since she stepped foot in the house and now even Maverick did the same,just to add on her anger.

She gazed at Calista with anger in her eyes though a pretentious smile was on her lips.

Maverick saw how they all reacted at his statement but did not bother to correct it. That was the truth and did not even question as to why he said that.

Mr Atlas motioned for the maids to get to work and the food was served as silence took over the table.

The maids were done serving and pouring the wine into their glasses soon and they left the dinning area.

"My dear,this is Jayden. He is my son Flavian's son and do not mind him at all. He can be a cute jerk sometimes just like his father was,"Dianna spoke while looking at Calista.

"It's okay mother,'her answer was short and her smile remained.

Suddenly,the boy's face lit up and he turned to face his uncle again.

"Then can I have her if there is no one as beautiful as her?"the boy asked happily.

Maverick who had picked his cutleries ready to eat halted his actions and looked at the boy.

"No way Jayden. She is mine and mine alone and no one else can have her not even my beloved son,is that clear?"he asked with a smile but everyone could feel the coldness and sternness in his voice making the Mr Atlas and Dianna chuckle.

"Relax Mave. He is just a young boy,it's not like he will really take your wife from you,"Dianna spoke when she saw how her son's mood change.

All this unfolding drama did not cease to upset Casey and her hatred towards the girl was gradually moving to the next level on their first day of knowing each other.

Maverick did not respond to his mother but began eating his food.

Jayden could feel that none of them understood what he was saying so he thought he should have a direct talk with his new mom.

"Beautiful mom, what's your name?"he began while peering at her since Maverick was seating between them.

Calista smiled at the boy before responding.

"Calista...that's my name,"

"You really have a beautiful name as well and I have never heard anyone by that name before. That has already given you a bonus,"he responded with a cheeky smile. Calista wondered if this was a boy or just a very little handsome man.

His words were just exceeding his height and age you know.

Calista giggled happily with the rest of the family members except Maverick and Casey who just forced a smile. Her own son was really into this woman who was here to take everything away from her.

"Thank you Jayden.."she had nothing else to say to the little man.

"So tell me beautiful mom. Will you accept being with me or will you remain with my dad. As you can see I am more handsome than my dad already and I will work hard to be as wealthy as my dad so that you can have everything. My dad told me that I will meet my queen one day and I think you are that queen already or I can make you one,"Jayden spoke.

Another hearty laughter filled the dinning. No wonder the kid was really loved by everyone. He is one in a million.

"Grandson,you do not want to have a fight with your uncle do you?"Mr Atlas asked as his laughter died down.

They were all happy not even noticing the change of atmosphere. Maverick was seething and he could not tell why.

Jayden was just a child but at his praises and everything he said about his wife,he felt quite mad and another feeling erupted within him. Jealousy!?..hell no! Maverick could not agree that he was jealousy because of the girl seated next to him.

He convinced himself that maybe it was just because he hated the idea of people wanting to take what is his, that's all.

Calista noticed that change on Maverick's face.

'What's wrong with this man?Is he jealousy? No way, that's impossible,he must just be mad. After all he just said it that he does not like sharing. I am absolutely nothing to him so why would he be mad and Jayden is just a kid so why would he be mad because of that?' she could not ignore his reaction.

She smiled at the boy and decided to make him stop the joking already so that they could eat since she had not even touched her food.

"How about I think about that Jayden? Then I will give you my answer in our next meeting. Is that cool with you?"she asked sweetly.

She was just great with kids.

"Hhm,sounds like a good idea mom Calista,"the boy spoke and there were giggles at the table again.

Calista looked at Casey. Their eyes met and she could see the resentment and anger in her eyes.

She did not understand why Casey would be so mad at her for an unknown reason to her. She was now very sure.

She has a new foe.
