Mission

Maverick flew back to New York after his conversation with Sage and drove to SA New Fashion & Design. Atleast his table was not filled with loads of files unlike the previous day. All he had to do was approve some new projects that were being proposed.

His Mercedes Maybach halted at his parking spot before he stepped down. He put on his black glasses and walked into the building with his men all around him.

"OMG! This must be my Royal. He is so handsome!"a lady exclaimed happily while openly drooling over him.

With his black trouser so tight against his body,his sleeves rolled up and the two top buttons left open he looked super dashing.

A super model.

The shop was busy as it ever was with high class ladies doing their shopping the workers helping them carry the shopping bags.At the moment,all eyes were drooling over him as he walked passed them. He walked passed them without sparing any of them a glance.

A red haired girl with blue doe eyes saw Maverick walking in and thought she should not miss the luck. She knew him,the lady boss's sister but she had always liked him. Too bad he did not even notice her,not even once. Being the manager she had to welcome him.She let down her hair quickly then unbuttoned the first button making her heavy breast pop out at the top. With her skinny skirt so short and her six inches heels,she leisurely walked to him with a seductive smile on.

"Welcome sir..."she began but there and then was interrupted by his deep voice.

"I can help myself miss..."he spoke in his normal cold voice and the lady stepped away feeling embarrassed. If he had even waited for her to greet him then greet her back,it would not have hurt,would it? But he chose to embarrass her before everyone.

The ladies around looked at her like she was an alien but no one dared judge her since they thought of doing the same when their eyes fell on him. All they could do was sneer at her for thinking that the Famous and Infamous handsome Maverick would spare her a glance.

As Maverick took a corner leading to Sage's office,his eyes caught a glimpse of a silhouette in a black trouser, white sneaker and an oversized hoodie covering all the way from her head to her thighs.

He did not know why,but he somehow felt like approaching the silhouette. Ignoring all that,he walked in to Sage's office.

"Welcome brother,"she exclaimed while walking to him. She looked all gloomy and her eyes were puffy and blood shot.

She had been crying.

She gave him a loving embrace and he sat down on the leather coach and she sat beside him.

"I cannot believe that Mr Thomas would be behind Brother Fabian's death. I can not wait for the definite answer. I swear to rip out his ribs one after the other if I finally know that he was the one who killed my brother!"she spoke with so much anger and pain.

The incident had happened years ago but the wounds that it had left were still very fresh like it just occured the other day.

The need for revenge was still so deep in their veins.

"I had my doupts last month about the incident. Fabian and I found out about this land that had gold. We wanted to start a gold minery there. That day he was involved in that bombing is the day he was going to meet the land owner and buy it. I had literally forgotten about the whole project after brother's death until I found out that Tom Hudson wanted to go after that land a month ago from my sources. It raised my suspicions up and decided to follow it up. I know that they will not get any answers since Tom is very good in what he does. He leaves no traces behind.Since I started it,I will continue with it,"Maverick spoke and Sage's eyes widened with disbelief.

"So he did not pursue the land again after brother's death because he knew that we will investigate him. So he started pursuing it again a month ago because he knew that we had stopped the investigation!" Sage began wrapping her hand around the whole thing.

"Exactly.."

"So what are you planning on doing now?"Sage asked.

"I will find out about the truth and kill that man. If I get to know that any of his children took part in murdering my brother,I won't hesitate to kill them all!"his voice was cold and determined and fierceness was written all over his face.

A deep silence took over them as everyone was burried deep into their thoughts.

Sage was still have a hard time accepting that Mr Tom Hudson had to do with this. She hoped and hoped that Tom's kids, Mellisa Hudson and Nathaniel Hudson had nothing to do with Fabian's death. Mellisa had always been her friend since childhood and she had a crush on Nathaniel since they were teenager. Now that he had started making attempts towards her,she hoped he was not part of his father's wickedness.

"So how sister in law?"she finally asked breaking the silence that had embraced the atmosphere.

"You mean Calista?"Maverick asked then chuckled thinking about how she had asked him to get out of her room the other night.

"It's definitely not that crazy Addison of yours!"she sneered just mentioning her name.

Maverick just gave a silent sigh. He knew that Addison was so proud and had a side of her that no one loved,her attitude and saddism but everyone has apart that some else don't like.

"She is fine.."was all he could say after searching for what to say for almost a whole minute.

Sage nodded at his words then asked another question.

"Are you guys good? Like do you live like a real couple because I know you were so much into that crazy girl.."she spoke.

Maverick sat upright on the coach then sniffled. He also did not know about Addison anymore. After their argument when she slapped Calista she never even bothered to call him and he did not either. That was very new to him,like staying without calling her each day.

"We don't leave like couples. You know I married her because dad and grandpa threatened to get me married to a girl of their choice. I really thought that the girl would be Melissa Hudson. You know how obsessed she is with me so I had to marry someone I would be able to divorce if I want to and Calista fell in for it though she was not the one I was to marry,"he confessed.

Sage was surprised. He married Calista yet she was not the one and divorcing after one year..which lady would want that!

"Does she know about the divorcing part? And what do you mean by she is not the one you were supposed to marry?"she was really lost.

Maverick told her about how a journalist by the name Skylar Izara was really into his personal life,telling the whole world that he was being forced to get married yet his girlfriend Addison was not ready for marriage. That story had spread before he could bring it down from the media. That hurt his ego and wanted to teach her a lesson.He told her how he tracked her down and sent a marriage proposal to her family with an intention of giving her a hell one of a year. The part that left Sage gasping is how he found out that it was Calista he married and not Skylar.

"You did not even bother about telling me about this madness?!"she asked and he simply shrugged.

"What was the Kapoor's punishment?"

Another shock hit her when he told her that he did not see the need for punishing them since he did not even love Izara.

"And she is still hidding. The fear of me finding her and the guilt that consumes her each day for what she did is an enough punishment,"he smirked while speaking.

"Are you sure that is the reason or is it that you fell for the girl's beauty?"she asked with a short laughter.

"Beauty is one thing she really owns but I have nothing to do with her beauty. I like Addison,"he confessed though he was not even sure and Sage shook her head.

"I doupt if you do and you only said that you like her not love her that means there is a possibility that love is again approaching!"she spoke and Maverick's face darkened. He hated love topics and he did not even want to think of such a possibility of falling in love again.

"Love is nolonger my thing Sage and that will remain as it is!"he declared.

Sage did not see why he was locking out such a beautiful feeling for what happened six years ago.

"You know that you should let what happened go.."

"Sage!" he did not allow her to finish her statement. He hated talking about what happened at all.

He stood and left for the door. They had been in the office for a whole good hour.

"Where will you be staying? At dad's mansion or your mansion?"she asked when he almost opened the door.

"My mansion..."was all he said then stepped out. The love discussion had changed his mood completely, bringing back memories he never wanted to remember.
