Calista began diving on her delicious breakfast when Maverick joined her at the table.The girl's great mood sulked immediately when her eyes fell on her husband's handsome face.He looked like he had had his bath. His hair was still damp and uncombed. Some of it was hanging on his face.He looked so hot.

Calista gulped and shifted her eyes from his handsome face. She did not want him confusing her into forgetting what he had just put her into.

Maverick took his seat at the most secluded chair at the width of the long we'll furnished mahogany table. The stress of choosing an outfit for the dinner.

Without looking at the girl seated before him at the right side,he parted his lips and greeted her cheerfully as though he was not the one pissed by her complaints some minutes ago.

"Good morning..."he greeted as he got a plate for himself.

A servant rushed forward to serve him but he dismissed him with a wave of his hand.

"Good morning..."Calista grumbled her answer,her concentration still on the plate before her. Maverick heard her speak but her voice was too low that he did not get what she said.

He raised his gaze at her. She looked pretty angry. He frowned in confusion. He had heard her crack jokes with Liz earlier and the last night,they had had a great talk and did not argue,so why was she so angry all of a sudden.

It would not hurt him to ask,would it?

"Everything okay?"he asked shortly as he returned his concentration back to his plate. He dished the food on the plate but still got no response. He took a first bite but still the girl was silent.

"I believe I asked a question..."he spoke again

while chewing his food.

'And I heard you moron!' Calista's mind shouted angrily but did not dare say that loud.

Calista was soo good at expressing herself. If she was not fine then she wasn't.She could not hide her feelings at all. She is an unreadable book but very ready to be understood.

"How am I supposed to be fine Maverick.I have hours to go yet I could not find anything to wear.I so worked up and here you are asking if am fine!"she rapped her answer but her voice lowered as she finished her statement. She was now pouting her lips like a kid.

Maverick got angry. What is with this annoying girl!? He mused as he slowly chewed his food. He again raised his gaze to her, wanting to scold her for being so ungrateful but all his anger dessipatted into thin air when she saw how she was pouting her lips. She looked so cute.

Her hair was tied into an untidy ponytail. Two strands of hair hanged down on her face on both sides of her face and the googles she was wearing made her looking extra charming.

A thin smile appeared on his beautiful face.

'She really looks innocent as Kim said,'he thought silently as he continued looking intently at her.

When Calista got no response,her anger heightened.

'Did he ask me just to ignore me!This man is so annoying sometimes!'she angrily thought as she lifted her gaze up to his handsome face. Their gaze met through the dark glasses.

Even though he could not clearly see the eyes,he could see how big and round they were and how deep green her pupil was. He wished she could take those off so that he could see those beautiful forests of hers.

He cleared his throat lightly when their eyes met.

"That is well taken care of so you do not have to worry about it.Cheer up if you want to now,"his answer was stern and abit chilled making Calista gulped as she felt a cold chill run down her spine.

'Cheer up if I want to? That sounds too sweet dear annoying husband'her mind yelled again but her lips remained closed.

The table was again dead silent. Only the clicking sound of the plates and forks and knives was heard as they both ate silently.

They were all still eating. It had been passed an hour and still the clicking sound of the cutleries against the plates was still heard. One could tell that the two were just pretending to be eating but we're not eating. How could one eat for an hour!?

Maverick had been holding his cutleries but his eyes were constantly on the girl who was literally playing with her food then picking some of the food and dipping them in her mouth after some minutes of playing with it. The servant who was standing at their service anytime they needed him was perplexed at his master's behavior. The longest he took when eating was forty to forty five minutes and that was very rare. He was not a picky eater but he had taken past one hour,that was very new.

The two were still seated playing with the utensils when they heard a sudden shriek.

"Heeeey..."a feminine voice hit their ears. Calista dropped her fork as a result of the sudden yelp.

Maverick was not really startled like Calista was. He was used to all this shrieking.It was either,his sisters,his nephew or Kimberly. Sometimes,Jake was also there. He was a his lawyer and Kimberly his personal doctor but they were such noise makers.

"Hey Kim. Did you forget that am married. You cannot come to my house shouting like a mad woman,"Maverick teased but it did not sound like teasing.It sounded more of a scold.

"Oh really!I almost forgot that you are married," Kimberly retorted back at him. She had grown up with Maverick and she knew how he would say something in a different way and mean it the other way. She moved closer and hugged him tightly from behind then planted a kiss on his cheek lovingly.

Calista's heartbeat increased abit. She was the wife but had never given him such a hug or a kiss before but why did she do that and who is she?

"Good morning Mave,"Kim greeted after planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Good morning Kim..."he responded.

Kimberly moved closer to Calista and extended her hand to her.

"How are you feeling?"Kim asked directing the question to Calista.

"Am..good.."Calista responded hesitantly while looking at her.

The girl was acting friendly towards her yet they were not even introduced to each other.

"You actually look much better. Last time I saw you,your face was all red,"Kim continued with a teasing smile. She did know Calista but she did not know that Calista did not know her yet. Calista smiled back at her but had to ask.

"Do..I..know..you?"she asked hesitantly asked with curiosity all over her.

Kim frowned at at her question.She now remembered that she was unconscious that day.

"Oh my! Silly me...I do now you but you definitely do not know me.My bad...let me introduce myself,"Kim spoke with the same smile on.

"Hey there.Am Kimberly but you can call me Kim. Am a Mr Royal Atlas's personal doctor,"Kim introduced herself happily to Calista. Calista stood and shook Kim's hand warmly with a beautiful smile on.

"Oh Mr Royal,"Calista repeated.

"I love how that name sounds.Anyways am Calista.Too bad am Mr Royal's wife,"she responded with a warm smile while looking at Maverick. Kim raised a brow at her. She looked so innocent and she was soo cool!

"Hhhm...is that bad? Because any girl would throw themselves at him.He is temptingly handsome,"Kim asked with a warm smile.

"That's true but it's still very bad.You do not know how much annoying it is for me to bear his sour mood and his sternness,"Calista spoke. The two seemed they were bonding well.

Kim moved much closer and embraced her tightly.

"I knew we would be good friends...I already like you and I know how annoying he can be but just ignore him,"Kim advices and bother the girls giggled happily. They behaved like long time friends.

"Am here guys and dear wife don't listen to her advise,she is not married yet,"Maverick interupted as he took a napkin and pressed his mouth lightly.

Calista rolled up her eyes as she giggled.

"I brought you something girl so finish up your breakfast. I will be waiting,"Kim spoke as she pulled a chair.

"Am done already..."Calista cut in before Kim could sit on the chair. She smile.

"I guess we can go now..."Kim spoke with the same friendly smile on. Calista nodded in approval and they started for her room.

"Can I join you girls?"Maverick asked as the girls walked up the stairs.

"Planning to change your gender?"Kim asked then let out a chuckle.

"Never say that again you RIF RAF..."Maverick joked but got another chuckle from Kim.

All that time,Calista was silent, listening to the two talk. The first people he had seen interacting with him were his sisters but they were not too good with each other but these were getting along pretty well and it made a certain feeling that she did not know erupt inside her. The two got to Calista's room sooner.
