Caring husband IV

Maverick could not wait to get back home. For some reasons he did not know,he longed to be home. He had never missed the Atlas Mansion after his brother passed on years ago.

That was the reason he left New York and started his life afresh in Texas. It had not been easy even then but he needed to be away from anything or anyone that easily reminded him of Flavian. The house ever reminded him much of Flavian since they had grown up together in that same house but atleast he could bear it by going to work early each morning and returning home late. But all his bearing fell lose when Jayden grew to be an exact copy of Flavian. His little innocent face and charming smile that waited for him at his couch in the bedroom every night.

When he still stayed at the mansion, Jayden would never go to bed without seeing him. If he was not waiting on the couch in his room then he was lying on his bed. He would spend the night with him most of the time. Jayden was three years old when Maverick decided to leave the mansion since he was having it rough. It had been hard for both him and Jayden but he did it anyways and allowed Jayden to visit him at his place every weekend.

Maverick reached his office phone and dialed a number.

"To my office,NOW!"he growled.

Mia stood from her desk, straightened her skirt and walked towards her boss's office. She was already used to him being this moody. Not too long ago,she was in his office and he seemed okay and gentle but all of a sudden,he was acting like a hungry lion, growling around.

She sighed when she reached at his door. It was a glass door and glass wall all over the office but his was always covered with the folds.

She ignored the two fierce looking men standing at the door and knocked.

Knock Knock

She knocked on the door multiple times.

"GET IN!!"she heard his deep voice speak. She sighed again then walked in. With how he sounded,she was beginning to get afraid even before seeing his face.

"Yes Sir?"she asked when she finally stood before him. Maverick looked up to her and to Mia's surprise,he looked calm and composed as though he was not the one growling seconds ago.

"Is there anything that looks like will need my attention?"he asked. It did not stop to amuse Mia how his voice was annoyingly harsh but his face so calm.

"There is nothing at the moment except that Mr Xing Yu declined the proposal we sent to him. He said that he has collaborated and already working with FIERCE,"she answered.

Maverick's frowned. People could be so silly sometimes.

"I will take care of that. I will be away from tomorrow. I will be back in a week. Eddy will help you handle everything here but I want to be informed about everything taking place in my company. From the least employee to the head of departments,"he spoke and she nodded in understanding.

"Yes sir. I will inform you of everything that is happening in the company,"Mia assured him.

Maverick could be cold sometimes due to his own reasons but he deeply trusted Mia and Eddy to run his company on his absence.

He stood from his desk and grabbed his briefcase and left the office. Mia walked closely behind him.

At the door,he met Bruce and Bryce. They were standing straight and looked firm. He liked his men that composed moreso his personal guards and most trusted men. Bruce and Bryce were twins and they both worked for him. Bruce took the briefcase that his boss held.

They looked good in their black outfits and the headphone and black googles.

"You know I rely on you when am away,"he spoke when he was finally out of the office.

Mia smiled in pleasure. She was glad that he did. She always knew that her boss trusted in one man,Eddy,but he said he can rely on her,that made her want to scream with joy.

"Thank you so much!"she said her sincere gratitude.

Maverick nodded at her but his face was blank.

"Wait for me at the car,"he ordered Bruce who did as asked and Bryce followed him as he walked to Eddy's office.

"You did not inform me about Xing Yu,"he spoke when he stepped in.

"Am not your secretary Mave,"Eddy snapped at him. Only he had such guts. Eddy was Flavian's friend and he became friends with him as well.

Even after Flavian's death,they remained friends and finally Maverick employed him as the president of Royal Firearms Cooperation. They made guns and supplied them through out the government through contracts.

Mr Xing Yu was a genius in mixing of chemicals when making bullets and that was the reason he wanted him in his company. It's not like his men were any less,they were good but having Mr Xing Yu was an advantage but the fool wanted to work with FIERCE,an illegal firearm making warehouse.

His company was registered by the government and he supplied the firearms to many different government. He could not understand why Mr Xing would declined such an offer to work in his company.

"Let it slide man. You really are not planning on forcing him. Our current men are very fine and we already have more than hundred workers at the factory. I don't think a single person should stress you up bro,"Eddy gave his opinion,which actually made alot of sense.

"You know I love the best being under me so I wanted to satisfy myself and meet my policy,"Maverick confessed with a sly smile on.

"I already knew that but let it slide. The law shall meet up with him for choosing the wrong way,"Eddy spoke.

Maverick sighed. He could not force issues,another policy of his.

"Anyways,I will be leaving tonight for Texas. The company is in your control as usual but I want to be informed of everything,"his deep voice now got deeper and more serious.

Eddy already knew what it meant when he sounded as such.

"Ofcourse bro but you know it's not fair that you are leaving already. Why don't we have a brother's night today then leave tomorrow,"Eddy gave his idea. Maverick really wanted that but he could not. He had a meeting with the C.E.O of Glorious Clothes and Shoes design.

"I have to meet with Gloria Widfield tomorrow at 9 a.m to finish up with the paperwork,"Maverick spoke but still, it did not add up to Eddy.

"You can fly tomorrow morning. In four hours,your jet will be landing in Texas so leaving at 5.30 am won't be a bad idea,"Eddy tried to reason out with him.

Maverick's face now possessed deep trenches on his forehead. Leave at five thirty am. That meant he had to wake up way earlier to get ready. It would not really be an issue but given that Calista was with him...

"Impossible. Calista is with me and telling me to make her wake up at four in the morning because I have a meeting to catch is just not possible,"Maverick gave his reasons.

"Huh! Don't be ridiculous bro...sister in law can spend the week over to her inlaws if that's the problem. Let's have this time and spend some more hours with Jayden,the kid needs his father,"Eddy spoke in a much more convincing tone but it seemed like he was convincing himself since it did not get to Maverick.

"Lucky the kid who has two dads. You can do my duty since am absent at the moment,"Maverick joked. Any other person would not pick that out as a joke but Eddy did since he knew him much better.

"...and I am not leaving that girl back here. She might run away like her sister did,"Maverick spoke.

"Speaking of running away...you really are planning on to punishing the girl for lying to you?"Eddy had never seen Maverick so forgiving. He knew there must be a reason for him to be so calm.

"I really do not see any need to punish her. It's not like I loved Izara. All I needed was a wife to keep the old man off my neck and I got one and am saved that none of my family saw her before we got married so that just saved my ass from the old man who will be back to the country soon...but because they hurt my pride,I won't let that go so easily,"Maverick spoke.

Eddy knew his brother-friend had a punishment under his sleeve but he couldn't bother ask.

"Be easy on her..."Eddy was already pitying the person who would have to be punished.

At the Kapoor Mansion,

Ishaani tossed on her bed countless times. She could not bring herself to shut her eyes let alone sleep.

It was still early,they had not even had dinner but since she was not planning on having one,she opted to going to bed early.

A knock was heard from her door and a maid in white uniform walked in when Ishaani allowed her to.

"Ma'am Ishaani,dinner is served or should I serve you here?"Bella, Ishaani's personal maid asked her,seeing how terrible she looked.

She was very pale and looked lean. Her eyes were swollen and red in color as well as her cheeks. It seems like she had been crying.

"I am fine Bella,I will skip dinner today,"Ishaani protested calmly looking at Bella who was looking pitiful at her.

"Ma'am,you did not have you lunch. You should have your dinner or you might fall sick,"Bella tried to convince her but it did not work.

"I said am fine Bella and am not some kid to need such care...but you can help me with something,"she spoke and Bella could not refuse her.

Since Ishaani came back to the mansion,Bella had been her personal maid and she saw how she suffered each day. She pitied her.

"Ofcourse ma'am Ishaani. I will do anything you ask me to,"Bella assured her with a smile.

Ishaani smiled weakly at her then asked her to move closer.

She whispered something in Bella's ears before Bella left the room.
