Suspicion validated

A careful investigation from Alice made Collins learn the bitter truth. It pained him that Susan had resigned from work and would no longer be at the Big Blue. He remembered the last erotic feelings they shared together . It made him more and more restless. He remembered when in recent times she had wisely defended and suggested that she was not going to have such things again with him. Her tone was almost revealing the truth but he continued to fool himself that women always change their mind easily and could one day think of resuming their love. The whole quagmires that had rendered her brief suspension from the Big Blue still ruminated in his mind. How he ended up with such an abhorrent motive towards George just because of it.

Little did Collins knew that he was the one who loved Susan truly while she only masqueraded in love so that she could extract whatever information she needed. He recalled the day he took her out for a date. How he had enjoyed her company and was consumed with false affection that he broke the shell and let out one of the most dangerous secrets to her . Her twanging and overly charming voice did it all that he let out the guard. Now Susan is no more. She had recently cut phone communication with him and thus could not be found on phone. She has resigned with a highly sensitive Secret. Collins felt it . It gnawed his inner peace even more to the realization that he had never shared this leakage with neither George nor Bruce. Perhaps they would have helped prevent it.

Susan was also not far from the same thoughts as Collins. She marvelled how the man had done everything on earth to please her. She also remembered how despite all that he had threatened her when she learnt that he had questionable amount of money in his office. She laughed at him when she recalled how she enticed him with her enigmatic love to the point that he confessed his malicious deals. This was a bonus to her and had proved her the new phone she was using . That was worthy celebrating. It reminded her of Angela .

Deemed by the mere thought of Angela, She decided to visit her on a weekend. She set out in the midmorning to Angel's place with high hopes she might even give her a solution following her resignation from the Big Blue. On arrival, she was surprised to see Angela immersed herself in the house chores to the point that she even ignore twice Susan's knock.

"Pleased to see you." Angela muttered in the warm embrace of Susan.

" Eeh! And where is Claire ? They have not yet opened schools and she must be helping you do these house tasks. " Susan observed.

Angela grew quiet and sullen. Her warm spirited mood soon grew cold even as she stared at Susan blankly. She was not in a position to explain to her best friend, how she lost greatest happiness in life . How she has been robbed off her hope altogether in a blink of an eye.

" How is George at The Big Blue?" Angela poked awkwardly trying to change the subject.

" I will tell you of George's account later. I'm surprised at how you're brushing off my question. What is wrong."

" Claire was kidnapped! She no longer here and.." She gasped heavily and paused .She had at least managed to fight her tears but her voice could still reveal her broken heart. " The police are working on the case now." She completed.

Susan did not want to imagine or at least believe it .

"Sorry. I'm very sorry! I did not know." she comforted sombrely.

" It's okay!"

" Angie I came here for some aid!" Susan went on trying to avert the sensitive subject in order save her friend's emotions.

"I'm always in to help you. What's it?" Angela posed feeling relieved from narrating Claire's story.

" I resigned from work."

" What?"

" Yes! I resigned and I came to let you know that I'm in dire need of employment."

" No you can't tell me that Susan! What went wrong?"

" I'm fearing my safety! You remember what I told of George and his men?"

" Yeah! But what have they done ? "

" I found yet another confirmation. I overheard them secretly planning to start a business from what they get from the crime .What I had not yet found out was what exactly do they do."

" Then you should find out."

" How ? How Angela and I'm no longer going to work there? I fear being arrested together with them."

Angela did not hear the last sentence from Susan. She had started overthinking and overanalyzing the situation. She wondered if the kidnapping and murder was what George and his men usually did. With a start like she wanted to confirm something, she probed Susan "Did you hear them talking of their recent deals?"

" Yes! They spoke of the recent pay that Hussain had paid them! I still could not understand what they meant by 'missions'. I guess Hussain is responsible for all these and is the one who sends them."

Angela switched off again. She started to imagine how his lover could be the one to end up hurting her to this extent.She now could understand why he came to her house the night Claire got lost. She now could see a picture of why he behaved peculiarly that day. Why he was equally sorrowful but with an evident guilt on his face. She now started to believe of George being the one behind the lost of Claire.

" What if George and his men are the kidnappers ?"

" Ooh! That is so evil Angela?"

" But it could be the most probable thing. I have started feeling that it can be possible."

Susan wondered how her friend could start thinking so wildly and unexpectedly in that manner. She thought what might have prompted her to that perspective. " Do this! " she suggested wisely. " Call George now and just try to carefully interrogate him. Remember to do it carefully for it is a sensitive matter."

Angela did not wait! She grabbed her phone and made the call almost immediately. "How are you doing love?" she started when George picked the call. " Marvelous! And what of my sweet Angel Angela?"

" She quite okay but she has a little concern."

" Bring it . I'm your man to lean on baby!"

" Where is Claire?" Angela posed.

George grew silent for a moment . He never expected such a turn to their talk. He faltered with words that he did not understand what he was saying himself. " Ohh! Claire!... The van... I wanted"

" Where is my sister Claire ?". Angela repeated seriously seeing how she had. caught him off guard.

" Angela!" He said and hung the phone immediately. The many attempt's to call him again failed. His phone was off!

Susan was left speechless as she witnessed a drop of tear starting to roll down the cheek of Angela. She new things had turned upside down. The suspicion had been validated.
