29 Jiraiya's Meeting With The Great Toad Sage

At an unspecified location, Jiraiya watched with a smile as Naruto sat by a giant waterfall, with his eyes closed, doing some kind of meditation seriously. The boy could be considered his godson, he was his father's teacher. Due to his personality, he always thought that he was unsuited to be someone's caretaker, but after meeting Naruto in person, he felt extremely guilty and regretful.

Jiraiya was a tall and well-built man. He had waist-length, spiky white hair tied into a ponytail, with two shoulder-length bangs framing his face. He wore a green short shirt kimono and matching pants, under which he wore mesh armor that was visible at his wrists and ankles. He wore hand guards, a black belt, traditional wooden sandals, and a red haori with two yellow circles on sides.

During the time they were away from Konoha, Jiraiya focused on his spy network, Akatsuki's movements, his "research" and training Naruto into a capable and well-rounded shinobi as well.

He improved his fundamental shinobi basics, Naruto for some reason failed to learn back at the Academy, like his tactical sense, dispelling genjutsu, weapon skills, chakra control, taijutsu, and use of clones in a battle. He additionally helped him control his Nine-Tails chakra better so that the boy could more easily learn other ninjutsu in the future without interference from the Nine-Tails chakra, he also taught him the Giant Rasengan. He also taught him to be more responsible and serious.

However, all of a sudden, he vanished from the face of the earth. Naruto was still in his meditation. 'I'm reverse summoned?', In the next second, Jiraiya got transported to an entirely different location. With the standard Summoning Technique, a shinobi summons an animal that they've signed a contract with to their location. The Reverse Summoning Technique does the opposite, allowing an animal to summon a shinobi that has signed a contract with its species to its location.

"Fukasaku, Shima, you summoned me?", Jiraiya looked around at the familiar environment curiously. Two very small toads stood in front of him. They were all on the legendary Mount Myoboku now.

Mount Myoboku was one of the big three unexplored sage regions, a legendary place that is equally as famous as the other two, Shikkotsu Forest and Ryuchi Cave. It was home to huge and small toads alike. It was a rich and beautiful land, whose ultimate authority was in the hands of the Great Toad Sage. Shima and Fukasaku, standing in front of Jiraiya now, were both elders and sages, of the place, and also extremely powerful and helpful summons due to their extensive abilities and expertise in the field of senjutsu. Both were more than a hundred years old. They had a great relationship with him. They were also called the "Two Great Sage Toads". They had both known Jiraiya since he was a young boy so they had plenty of good feelings and great fondness for him.

Toads possessed a wide range of abilities, being able to spit water or oil from their mouths as well as utilizing things ranging from their own tongues and weapons in battle. What is most unusual is that they are one of the few species able to do ninjutsu, and one of the few animals thus far capable of hand signs. Toads are also familiar with senjutsu, making them very powerful on the battlefield.

Fukasaku was a green toad with white hair styled in somewhat of a mohawk, very thick eyebrows, and a small goatee. Shima had a green underside with purple markings around her mouth and the back of her body. The top of her head looked as though she was wearing a hair net with hair rollers underneath, giving her an 'old woman' look. Both of them looked unusually serious at this time.

"What's going on?", Noticing their irregular expressions as well as how hastily they summoned him this time Jiraiya also turned serious and asked with concern.

"Jiriya boy, the Great Honourable Geezer asked for a meeting with you urgently. We never saw him be so serious before. We don't think it's any good. Let's go and meet him!", Fukasaku spoke first.

'Great Toad Sage Gamamaru...?', Jiraiya was full of question marks, as he rarely summoned him before. He was the oldest and the most respected toad of all the inhabitants of Mount Myoboku.

He still remembered that time the Great Sage delivered him the prophecy regarding him. He was almost like a mythical being who could sense the future. He said to him that firstly that he would go on to become both a talented ninja, and a pervert without equal. He would then walk across the world as a sage, "observing all creation, watching as nature takes its course", and in doing so he would also write a book. Jiraiya was also told that he would one day have a student with the power to save or destroy the world and that it would be his own actions that will determine which path this student takes. That's why Jiraiya spent his whole life looking for that Child of Prophecy, but still wasn't sure who exactly it was. At first, he thought it was Minato, then Nagato, and now he doesn't know. They were both students of his at some point in the past. Their talents deeply impressed him.

Without much talking, as the matter was very serious, this time, they soon entered Gamamaru's large residence after a short journey. It was a giant hall full of massive-sized scrolls on the walls. The giant toad was sitting in a shallow pool of water which had the kanji for "sage" inscribed onto it.

He was one of the largest inhabitants of Mount Myoboku, brown in color, with a white belly. He was very wrinkled and could only squint with his eyes as he was very old. He wore a professor's hat with tassels and an orb on top of it. He also wore a necklace with the toad's village symbol for oil on it.

Being the oldest toad sage of Mount Myoboku, he was very wise and had immense knowledge, and was greatly respected by all of his fellow toads. He had immense longevity, having been around way before Kaguya Otsutsuki even arrived on this planet. He could be said to be the closest being to this planet and nature in the whole world. His mastery of natural energy already surpassed all limits, and no one knew exactly how strong he was. He could also enhance his physical powers with natural energy way before Kaguya even came to the Earth and passed chakra onto people after eating the Chakra Fruit from the Divine Tree. He later personally taught her two sons Hagoromo and Hamura senjutsu in order to defeat her and save the world after she went astray and wanted to destroy it.

Gamamaru was a witness to Kaguya Otsutsuki's enslaving of the land via the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Years later, Gamamaru approached the princess' twin sons, Hagoromo and Hamura Otsutsuki. He revealed to them the sinister nature of their mother's regular ritual to the Divine Tree, urging them to seek out the truth. Once the twins learned about the people being offered to the tree, they sought out Gamamaru to hear the whole truth about their mother's actions and the dangers posed by the God Tree, as it was continuously draining Natural Energy from the world, depleting its supply.

By consuming all of the natural energy of the planet and the DNA of humans, a Chakra Fruit was to be created for her to consume and gain immense powers. And, although, she ate one Chakra Fruit before the twins were even born, this planet's potential was so strong that it could even produce another one without depleting all of the world's energy supplies and Kaguya realized it and acted upon that. However, ultimately, the twins got Gamamaru to teach them senjutsu, something they lacked while Kaguya naturally had that ability as she was an original, full-blooded Otsutsuki being.

They managed to defeat and seal her away, at that time, and the rest was history. Hagoromo later spread parts of his chakra to others with a practice called Nishu. His intention was to create peace by using the chakra to connect people by understanding each other without even talking. Whereas Hamura used his chakra to create the Giant Tenseigan on the Moon, so he and his clan could inhabit it and then guard the Ten-Tails husk for eternity. However, both of their plans later failed.

While Kaguya's own extraterrestrial, Chakra Fruit-enhanced genes continued to be passed on among their two descendants' clans. Gamamaru was the only being currently alive who witnessed the whole process and history. Though, he still didn't know from where Kaguya came to their planet, in the first place, or if there were more transcendent individuals like her outside in the universe. Even his fate-sensing ability can't come that far as he relied only on this world's natural energy.

"Jiraiya boy, that prophecy you were told decades ago, now it is invalid!", Gamamaru eventually sighed and said after staying silent for a long time. Fukasaku, Shima, Jiraiya, turned surprised. Especially Jiraiya, who previously based nearly all of his life on that same aforementioned prophecy.

"A new prophecy had suddenly come to me recently! I managed to see a specific teenager. He will either bring peace onto this world and then guard it against extraterrestrial invaders, or he would be the one to destroy it!", Gamamaru spoke seriously. For some reason, his prophecies always came to him in contrast. It was also like that decades ago after he received that previous prophetic dream.

Fukasaku, Shima, and Jiraiya opened their eyes wide in fright. Now not only has the prophecy got changed, but the contents of it got as well! And, moreover, what were the extraterrestrial invaders?

"Ah, yes! I forgot. I told you all only up to Hagoromo, the Sage of Six Paths, and the holder of the Rinnegan before...", Gamamaru comically smiled before turning serious once again, "However, that is not exactly the full story. I forgot to tell you all that he also had a mother and a twin brother!"

"What!?", Jiraiya was stupefied. He felt like those matters were so unreal and far away from the current him, who was presently on the pinnacle of the whole Ninja World in strength and fame.

Gamamaru then told them everything he knew about Kaguya Otsutsuki, the God Tree, Ten-Tails, Gedo Statue, Chakra Fruit, Hagoromo, Hamura Otsutsuki, the Moon, and all of their descendants.

Jiraiya and the two elder toads felt dumbfounded after hearing everything. They felt like they were small ants in front of all that knowledge. However, as they knew Gamamaru's background, they still believed him. It's just that they felt so insignificant in front of everything they just managed to hear.

"Just like Hagoromo had Rinnegan, his less-known twin brother Hamura had Tenseigan, an equally powerful dojutsu... And I think that I saw a teenager with that dojutsu in my prophecy. He will either bring peace, and fight off those invaders from the starry sky, or he would be the one to destroy the world before them!", Gamamaru finally finished the introduction, he now appeared comically tired.

After a long time, Jiraiya finally sighed, his brain overloaded with information, "And what does Tenseigan looks like? For Rinnegan, you showed me a picture on a scroll back then, remember?"

Gamamaru smiled in response and then he took one of the giant scrolls from behind him, opening it and then throwing it straight at the ground near the feet of stunned Fukasaku, Shima, and Jiraiya. As he didn't know the exact abilities of both Tenseigan and Rinnegan, he could only show them the appearance he remembered from his time when he knew those two twins Hagoromo and Hamura.

They opened their eyes wide in amazement as they looked at that bright, blue dojutsu with almost a sun-like appearance. It looked like it was full of unsolved mysteries and it seemed overpowering.

"But, why didn't you tell me about this sooner? Don't tell me you forgot...", It was a rhetorical question, of course, as all three of them now facepalmed comically but now fully believed his story after seeing that ancient, precise drawing on the scroll. He told them only about Hagoromo before.

"It was a long time ago, Jiraiya boy. That guy Hamura... He was a little proudful but had a good heart...", Gamamaru smiled a little as he remembered his long-forgotten interactions with him.

Jiraiya sighed at that, 'Well, at this time, it is great that I'm not involved with the prophecy. It was such a heavy burden all those years.', Although, he would still do his best to save the world from those aliens and achieve true peace. He would even see if he could contact that young person.

"Ah yes, Jiraiya boy, I forgot to tell you about one more thing. Well, you see, since a few years back, the whole fate of this world gradually got muddied away by something. This is probably the last prophecy I will ever be able to make, so cherish it well. Not only I can't see it anymore, but the interwoven fate of this whole planet, got turned upside down, so expect many unexpected things.

Some extraordinary people with great fates originally could now suddenly go down or die, and some unassuming people, with previously unfortunate or subpar fates, could now suddenly raise. Everything is messed up and unknown. Some things that shouldn't happen, will now happen, and vice versa. It is also probably related to that teenager with Tenseigan. He's in all likelihood from the outside like those other extraterrestrial beings are as well. And the stronger that person becomes, the stronger the changes in the destiny of this whole world and all of its beings would also become.

You should go back to Konoha now during these dangerous times and not leave. Be careful and good luck, Jiraiya-boy!", Gamamaru calmly spoke to him, his voice dropping lower and lower.

To which Fukasaku and Shima nearly dropped to the ground in shock, while Jiraiya suddenly clenched his fists with veins popping all over his forehead, "And you tell me all of that now geezer! Do I really matter nothing to you, damn!", Jiraiya yelled in anguish and betrayal, however, the Great Honourable Geezer had already started snoring in deep sleep. Jiraiya wasn't this mad in decades.
