Homelander's Journal...May 13th 2023

I thought it fitting that I start my journal on the day that my greatest enemy (so far) is buried dead into the ground.

William Butcher is no more! Finally!

I watched him over the months deteriorate more and more becoming only a husk of his former self. I thought for sure he would drop dead or at least go into a coma over a month ago but it seems out of sheer stubbornness he refused to let go.

I can only assume he wanted to see the birth of 'his' child. HA! I get much more joy at that thought than I should be.

Truthfully 'I' had nothing against the man it was only because of 'our' intertwined pasts that meant him and I could never reconcile.

Besides superpowers or not I simply couldn't have a resourceful hateful cunt like him alive to keep gunning for me. I was only ever so lucky that he went against his principles and became what he hated the most.

It killed him and removed that annoyance of a substitute little brother off the board and I didn't even have to lift a finger.

I was worried he would release 'the video' as a last fuck you but it seems he didn't and I don't think he will. I don't know if Frenchy, M.M or Malory have it my best guess he entrusted everything to Maeve to have as a last effort deterrent against me.

She's probably the one that convinced him not to do it. I doubt she'd want to raise her son in a post-apocalyptic world.

Not that I would ever let it get to that point. It's amazing what you can do with deep fakes nowadays. There's a whole website where people make deep fakes of celebrities fucking. Some are so good I wonder if they aren't actually real sex tapes.

No, nothing to worry on that front, I'm prepared if that video ever surfaces.

Maeve is due soon and so should Kimiko. The Vought doctors say everything is 'normal' with Maeve's pregnancy, no signs of powers or abnormalities yet but I know better and I think Maeve feels it too.

Literally I've 'seen' that boy's kick. Still it remains to be seen how he will develop, even my gifts only fully surfaced after a few years.

Ryan's were even longer but that maybe because of the sterilized environment he was raised in.

As for Kimiko I have no idea how her pregnancy is progressing. Her and Frenchy had basically disappeared doing god knows what nonsense only appearing for Butcher's funeral. All I got from observing her was that the baby was also a boy, already sporting a flush of dark hair in contrast to Maeve's kid sporting red.

It seems the trend is for all the boys to take after their mothers…typical.

Though as Ryan is maturing every day I see more and more of his grandfather in him…Soldier Boy.

One day I have to take a trip to the moon and tie up that loose end…as soon as I figure out what to do with him…I very much doubt that he's fully dead.

I can't simply assume that not when I feel no adverse effects when in space outside my need to breath…which I'm slowly working on.

I still need a suite to be in space, but because of my innate hardiness my space suit is maximized for optimal mobility and breathing time. It's quite sleek and unlike those bulky tanks that regular humans have to wear.

The V-Light launch was successful and in a few months we will launch our first cadre of satellites. Byron Sat is ramping up production and software programming.

Things are going to start moving very fast soon. I need V-light to be a success within two years. With it as a success story and hopefully Singer and Victoria in office I'll be able to rope in the government.

Then things will really pick up first orbit then the Moon.

Still Soldier Boy, Soldier Boy , Soldier Boy. What am I to do with you?

…maybe I can chuck him into the Sun.

Author Note:

This chapter is pretty much all 'telling' and not showing.

I'm looking for ideas of how the space build up can happen. Some readers mentioned hotels for tourists which is a pretty neat idea and fits in with Vought's 'Vought World parks'.

Let me know if you have any other ideas for both commercial and scientific ventures.

For anyone worried someone is going to read Lander's journal don't worry it's on an encrypted laptop and all that tech security mumbo jumbo.

As well the chapter shows some hints on how the children will look so it's not quite obvious right away who the fathers are.
