Upward

In Upward, a woman, Cecilia, and her husband, Good, find out that there was an entire civilization of people living underground in America.

They call themselves "Upwards," a group of people that will float up and flood above ground because they're underground the ceiling is their floor and the floors, they're ceiling.

❣

The woman, Cecilia, is alarmed by a hole in her backyard. She asked her husband, Good, to go down the hole and when he went down he found a little girl named Amy who had walked out of the house.

❣

But this house was not just any house it was a house that was a neighbor to the house that he walked into that was under his house but the house that he was inside had the furniture on the ceiling.

❣

When he climbed out of the house because the way the house was built under his house it was as if he was on top of a ceiling of sorts but everything was upside down.

❣

He noticed that he had fallen to what seemed to be a ceiling because everything in where he was was upside down.

❣

Then he saw Amy. A girl that was walking on the ceiling.

❣

Her eyes were solid black so she looked quite scary.

❣

Amy yelled for her father saying "Daddy, there's a grown man on the ceiling!"

❣

Turns out under the ground that we live on was a city.

❣

In the city was a group of people with inverted gravity and because they had inverted gravity, all the houses were inverted.

❣

As it turns out, everyone there was a completely pale because there was no sunlight.

❣

However there were plenty of lights.

❣

There was an air purifier that bought oxygen from above ground to below ground where their city was.

❣

When Amy spoke to her father, which Good heard, Amy spoke as if her inverted gravity was normal gravity.

❣

"Daddy, there's a man on the ceiling. I walked outside of my house to find him climbing out of someone's home." Said Amy.

❣

Her father, Bear, who had normal human eyes said "Honey, you just met a downward."

❣

Amy was confused as to what a downward was, she asked "What is a downward?" considering she was only 10 years old.

❣

Bear says "So, a downward is someone that lives below the ground. The gravity is inverted where they live, so, they have to live below our city and it's quite lucky that their gravity is inverted because there's no floor where they live so they will fall into the blue abyss."

❣

Amy asked "Why haven't they dug into our ground?"

❣

Bear tells Amy that "The reason they haven't dug into the ground is because the mayer made a deal with their mayor that they wouldn't and we have metal floors so that we don't fall through the floor because our dust and our gravity is kind of flimsy."

❣

Amy:

"Whaaaaaaaat?"

❣

Bear:

"For them, when stuff falls, it falls down because they are upside down, whereas for us, when stuff falls, it falls up because we are right side up."

❣

Amy:

"Cool!"

❣

Bear went and introduced his wife to this new city telling her what he saw.

❣

Cecilia was so confused.

❣

Amy ran out, saw Cecilia and yelled "Are you another upside down?!"

❣

Cecilia asked "What are you talking about?"

❣

Amy yells "You are a Downward, you guys live under the floor! You can't fall into the sky! They call the abyss the sky, right? Sometimes it's a giant black hole! Sometimes, there's a giant dark blue hole, and sometimes, it's a giant bright blue hole with white spots!"

Cecilia:

"The sky?"

❣

Good:

"I tell ya', I tell ya', I've been wondering what that construction noise was!"

❣

Imagine going into your basement to find a door to an upside down world where a man is dancing on the ceiling which appears to be a ground on the ceiling and his wife is a woman who walks right side up and they're dancing.

Welcome to the Upside Down Verse.

❣

They see... They see... The king dances in front of his castle with his wife being holstered up to his version of the ground which from the point of view of Cecilia and Good is the ceiling.
