The Book is dropped

Val was always the one to give up quickly, not the hero type either, as he mostly scraped his novels at Two chapters and never went far. But when he reincarnated, he wished he had more than a couple of chapters to one of his novels. The cruel universe of his novel was a jumbled mess. Thanks to the world never being established. Preparing For Exams (2.5)

Ding, Ding

I jumped out of my seat soon as the door opened up. Amidst the confusion, I swiped the tab to the left: A man entered, walking in like a girl in a fashion show, trying to flex as he was wearing quality wolf fur as a scarf and a blue medieval tunic with a gem on the middle shaped like a type of blade, his lips were so red you would think he used lipstick.

He hides his probably bald head with a red beanie and his eyes with rich branded sunglasses.

As I looked at the man slowly approaching, I wondered what he was doing as he was like a turtle. Like one of those models that photoshoot a beach scene. I had my fair share of quirky customers from my old life, but most didn't take hours to reach the counter.

Tippy, tap, toe

After he finally reached it with his baby steps. He patted his finger on the marble desk and looked into my eyes with a snarky expression. He started to browse the menu after examing me.

Was I that ugly?

I could look pretty handsome; If I had a proper place to live, my hair was everywhere as I didn't have a brush, and my cheeks shallow as I did not eat properly for days. The last time I ate was at my congratulations for the job party.

"What would you like to order, Sir?"

I sighed, disappointed at my excuses giving him my greeting.

"Hmm, can I get a cheesecake and a latte? Also, I don't want any milk in my latte, as I have a deadly allergy. Make it 2 cheesecakes and 1 biscuit."

I rolled my eyes as I kept writing on the Flipboard, I was annoyed by the high and mighty tone, but it was my job, As I continued by ripping out the page.

"Shelly, we got an order."

I said through the kitchen window, closing the right side of my mouth. Shelly rummaged through the kitchen, snatching the paper away from my hand.

"Thank you very much."

He said, moonwalking away to one of the plastic tables surrounded by red and blue couches. Just who was this man? We were ready to close, but he came in at the last second. Perhaps he was a night owl; His smile was just weird as it gave me a feeling I was looking at a higher being in strength and wealth.

In the rear of my mind, that smile felt familiar.

Shrugging off the thought, I leaned down on my back. I cracked my arms and legs, opening the soul's tab, trying to find an explanation. But a corny name like that never seemed to be a good sign.

/Souls collected: 1/

The things you kill will be reaped of a quarter of their soul. Thus gain a stat point for each creature you kill. (Only For Intelligent Races)

Other than the broken English, one part caught my eye. Intelligent races? That left me with many possibilities; humans were one, but what else counted?

Ants? They're clever creatures, but I don't think it would be easy as crushing an ant.

And I do not want to go on a massacring spree, as I'm already being hunted down, perhaps by aliens or one of those monsters I see around.

"Souls collected 1?"

It seems I already killed one, but what?

Other than those weird spider ant creatures, I haven't killed anything else. Is there a way I can reap a soul without killing? Or is that a forever requirement?

"I should go to the forest."
