The Bodyguard of a Villainess in an Apocalyptic Revenge Novel

After leaving a bad review and scolding the author of a web novel, he goes to sleep and opens his eyes to a new environment and body. He became Brick who was a side character who died protecting one of the early villainesses of the web novel. The worst part was that he had the lingering attachment of the bodies previous owner so he could not just escape and survive on his own. He had to protect the villainess so the race would begin between him and the main female protagonist as they try to survive in the apocalypse. Gathering

Many people had gathered by the stairs where Brick had stood along with Tanya and Buffy was the first one to show up to express that she was willing to follow along.

Those that had come afterwards had followed her lead or had put their faith in Tanya even if it was temporary.

The hotel was not completely cleared out and was still unsafe due to the zombies being able to enter so the words of Tanya who had explained the situation within the Reed Residence had made many wish to move there where it was more fortified and had mostly been taken back from the zombies.

The promise to get help to save people for each of them if they were somewhere in the area and still alive had caused others to take up the offer since they had no better offed available.

Unfortunately there were still some that had not showed up so the numbers were not even a quarter of the amount of survivors that had been gathered together.

The group was not that large but it was not a very small group either so once Brick had counted them, he thought to himself. 'We have got a lot of work to do..'

There were Tanya, Buffy and five others from their club while there were three new faces that had joined that were originally just survivors from one of the floors that had been cleared.

There was one more person that was from the same floor and it was a lady that was dressed in work staff clothing that was related to the hotel.

She could have been a cleaner or server within the hotel but she had been able to survive by gaining access to one of the rooms and locking herself away from the zombies until Tanya had saved her.

She looked towards Tanya with glowing eyes. 'I do not know what others are thinking but anyone with a brain can tell who is the best person to stick with at this time.'

Her gaze turned to Brick and carefully studied him. 'Him too.. he should not be underestimated since he was able to get here safely and has done so much already. If I stayed here then it is likely that that kid will be let out and he will cause problems again.'

She shuddered as she thought back to the lecherous gaze that had been directed towards her from the first day that he had stayed in the hotel which was just before the outbreak had happened.

He was a little more restrained at that time due to him wanting to keep up appearances but once the outbreak had happened, his actions started to become less restrained and his mood often became irritable.

Everyone was quite irritable for various reasons and stress being one of them but in order to cope with that, he started to act more on his whims and was using the women around him to satisfy his desires and to create his own means of escaping from the current reality.

He had not yet done anything to her but he had approached her several times and used various ways to try to persuade her to spend time with him.

She had witnessed his actions during the gathering which she was working as a server there so she was aware of some of the reason that he was acting out and venting on the girls around him.

After he had failed to get the girl he had his sights on, he had set his sights on her as a rebound but was politely declined so he had ended up spending the night with one of Tanya's club members.

She had worked her way up the floors to be able to serve the higher paying customers so she had been taught how to deal with rich or troublesome customers so she was able to get away from his advances smoothly that night.

He was still not completely over those rejections and was going through many other issues due to the dire situation everyone was in so he had started to become more volatile the more time passed.

The gaze he had towards her was becoming more impatient and looked a little scary to her so she had tried to keep her distance from him but luckily Brick had arrived to cause a big shift in the power dynamic of the group.

She was one of the first people to kill a zombie at his command and she had watched on as Brick had removed the young master from being any more of a threat to those around him.

Even if she could not say it out loud at the time since there were others that could have heard her and caused problems for her later because of it, she was quite happy to see that he was no longer able to move around freely.

Once the group had started to divide a little, she had taken a step back and quietly watched on as things played out so she could make a wise choice for her future but she already knew that if she was to count on anyone then it would be Tanya and Brick who were the few people who actually seemed to know what they were doing.

They were the better option and it was safer for her to go with them instead of staying back along with everyone else.

She knew that the moment that Brick and Tanya had left, the others would release the young master again and he would not repent on his previous actions so it was not safe for her or any girl that was smart enough not to be fooled by him.

There were others that had looked towards Brick and Tanya with the same admiration which came from them being grateful for being saved and wanting to repay them in some way.

Everyone was waiting for the first thing that would be mentioned until they saw Brick push in several suitcases which were opened up.

He rummaged through many of them and started to toss some pieces of clothing that were too revealing or were too bright to the side.

He pointed towards a woman that had an expensive dress that had her arms and legs revealed before pointing back towards the suitcase. "Fail. Too revealing and not great for moving around in. Get changed into something that fits you among these."

"Fail. Too bright clothing."

"You are good but you could use a little more protection around your upper body. Perhaps a coat will do."

"Change your shoes into something more suited for running."

"Hmm.. you are quite good but perhaps a work blazer jacket may be a little restricting so switch it to something else."

The woman that had been lost in her thoughts had been pointed out by Brick and was relieved that he did not scold her too much like the others so she went over the take out a dark hoody to put over herself after her blazer was removed. 'Phew..'

"We are not going to some fancy party or anything so whatever you may have decided to wear must be as practical as possible. Now I will go over the tips for survival once we step outside there."
