Chapter 48: Grand Master's House

Ji Yunhe's memory of the fight that night was pretty fuzzy. She only remembered some fragments of the beginning and the end. And she knew that when she attacked the Grand Master, his unmatched spiritual power had felt like it was tearing at every inch of her skin and crushing every bone in her body.

But she attacked anyway. The smell of blood only added to her uncontrollable rage. She did not use a weapon, instead, she attacked with her bare hands and nails, like a real demon. And the fight ended in her defeat.

She lost but she did get to rip his sleeve. Her fingertips had grabbed a hold of the sleeve on his white robe when his sword rested against her throat. But he did not kill her, he only knocked her unconscious.

A humiliating defeat. But that was the outcome Ji Yunhe had expected the moment she made her move. Who was the Grand Master? A person who came from the heyday of the Demon Master era a hundred years ago and stood at the pinnacle even then.

Rumors in the martial world grew more and more ridiculous. And the court never came forward to explain what had happened.

Because the Grand Master ordered Ji Chengyu to never speak of that night to anyone. He wanted Ji Yunhe to become a secret. A secret imprisoned in his Grand Master's house. Ji Yunhe did not know why he imprisoned her, and neither did Ji Chengyu.

But no matter what the reason was, Ji Yunhe felt like her current situation was still much better than expected. At least the Grand Master did not torture her, or tie her up, or ever came to see her. It was so much better than when Changyi first entered the Demon Valley dungeon.

Ji Yunhe could not understand why, so she simply did not bother thinking about it. She had become too lazy to think about a lot of things, including why she grew nine tails and why her life was spared. She only knew one thing...

The time to take her antidote was quickly approaching. She did not even have a chance to see Lin Haoqing, let alone get an antidote. She was pretty much just waiting to die.
