Chapter 106: Twist 2

Ice spears rose up from the ground and blocked the blade. The Grand Master's eyebrows tightened, "You are at the end of your line." His hand moved again. With a flash of light, the wind blade cut through the ice spears in front of Changyi, but it suddenly took a turn and headed for Ji Yunhe behind him.

Changyi immediately retreated and threw himself onto Ji Yunhe, shielding her with his body. The wind blade slashed onto him. Blood flowed from his black robe, but Changyi's face showed no signs of pain. Aside from the one inside his arms, nothing else mattered to him.

Once he confirmed that Ji Yunhe was not injured, he hurled the ice sword at the Grand Master, and ice spears once again unfolded between them.

"Struggling in vain," the Grand Master mocked and shattered all the ice spears, but unexpectedly, a drop of blood flew through the shards. The Grand Master turned slightly sideways, and for the first time, took the initiative to defend. When he turned back, the corner of his brow had been cut by the drop of blood that condensed into ice on contact. The Grand Master paused as his own blood trickled out from the wound and rolled onto the floor. An exhausted jiaoren just injured him?

"A hundred years have gone by in this world, and only you, a demon, is worth a look," the Grand Master said as he wiped the blood off the corner of his brow.

Changyi's fingers were now starting to frost over from exhaustion, and his breath exhaled vapor so white that it was impossible to ignore. The extreme cold temperature inside his body made it difficult to even turn his eyes.

"But, that is all."

The Grand Master's aura swirled around his body and stirred the wind and clouds in the sky. The surrounding air grew so heavy that it was difficult for people to breathe.

He stared at Changyi and prepared to make his killing blow, when suddenly, a breeze independent of his control blew by his ears. It was so light that it was almost imperceptible, but that breeze carried a delicate flower through the gale, and across his side. In the midst of the Grand Master's raging storm, the flying flower fluttered and drifted to Ji Yunhe.

It landed into her hand that was sitting lifelessly on the ground. The Grand Master narrowed his eyes and watched as the breeze rolled onto Ji Yunhe's arm then wrapped around her body.

She trembled and opened her eyes. Her usually dark pupils now flashed with a strange glow, and Changyi saw a demeanor in her face that looked completely different from before. The breeze lifted Ji Yunhe off the ground and into the air. She said to Changyi while gazing at the Grand Master,

"Excuse me for borrowing her body." Her tone of voice was also very different from Ji Yunhe. She seemed to have turned into a different person altogether.

Changyi froze. The Grand Master watched as the air around Ji Yunhe moved. It was not demon power, but the spiritual power of a demon master, and the magic she was using was identical to his.

The wind split between Ji Yunhe and the Grand Master, seemingly battling against each other. She stared at him from the air, then made a gesture with her hand and more wind started to flow to her side.

The Grand Master had already lost his will to fight by now. His eyes followed her and his shock grew with her every move. Images from the past emerged and he saw her face and heard her voice.
