Awakening

Trying to fall asleep seemed all but impossible. My brain kept replaying the events of today over and over. "Dahlia" Raven Star spooked me. "What is it" too exhausted to give a proper greeting. "You must rest, you need your strength, your 18th Birthday is only a few weeks away". "I don't want this life, I want to be normal" "my dear girl, I'm sorry you feel that way, but the way of the spirit wolf isn't so bad, you should feel blessed by the moon goddess, many are counting on you to lead the way" Raven Star seemed to be irritated and spat her words. "I'm sorry Raven Star, I'm just so overwhelmed by all this, how do you expect a supposedly "human" girl to just accept all this" Dahlia said near tears. "You have a good point, but fear not Dahlia, because us Ravens have always kept our other halves safe from harm, what happened to your parents was unforgivable and I lost my parents too" Raven said to Dahlia with a slight whimper. "What do you mean Raven Star?" Dahlia replied. "I forgot you are just learning our history and ancestry. You're royal blood of the Raven Blood Cresent Pack. The pack is named Raven because my forefather the very first Spirit wolf, whose name was Raven Blood. From then on, all of us Spirit wolves to honor our ancestor have Raven in our name. My father; Raven Fang and my Mother; Raven Moon were your parents Spirit wolves" Raven Star replied. "That's actually really cool I never knew something could be so complex, thank you for telling me, by the way, I didn't ask before, but why do you have an aura of black and red here in this place we talk?" Dahlia asked. "The aura is my spirit, when you have your first shift, you too shall have the aura around you as well. When you shift we will be one and this place we are in, is the spirit realm of wolves" Raven Star answered. Dahlia and Raven Star continued to talk throughout the night. Before she knew it Dahlia fell into a deep sleep. "Sleep well my Luna, tomorrow starts the end of one life and the beginning of another, it's time for your awakening" said Raven Star as she curled up and fell asleep herself.
