"I suppose I should thank her then." Vivienne looked quizzically at Piers as he said this. "If you hadn't been forced out on that pointless encounter, I might've missed you this evening." His buttery voice filled the room and Vivienne felt her heart beat skip. "Perhaps we need to find a more useful hobby for you than accompanying lesser men however." Vivienne was thoroughly confused at this point and all she could do was let out a small nervous laugh. Lesser men? Well, clearly Nathan was definitely not a suitable fit for her in any way but what did it matter to Piers if she went on a few dates? She was a young, single woman. She had had several relationships throughout the years, one even being so serious that the man had proposed to her. Vivienne couldn't accept it though and no matter what, every relationship felt like a chapter in an endless story. Each was just a chapter to her though. None of them ever felt meaningful or long lasting which was why she always ended up being the one to break it off.

When they had finished dinner, Piers stood and pulled out her chair for her. The exited the restaurant to the city street and Vivienne smiled. "I should head home now." "Are you walking?" Vivienne nodded. "I'll escort you back. It's late at night and you never know what might be hiding in the shadows." Piers said this with a grin and Vivienne smiled back at him, both knowing that he was precisely the type of creature in the shadows. They walked quietly towards the building of her penthouse in the city. "Do you stay downtown often?" Piers asked, breaking the silence of the cold night air. "Sometimes." Vivienne responded. "I like to stay downtown usually when I have a lot to do at work. I can stay late or go in very early. It's convenient when I don't feel like dealing with all the traffic and what not. It was also more fun when I would go out more often." Ever since the death of her uncle she had become so much more recluse. Her friend group was once large, always going out to dinners or bars, parties and clubs. Enjoying the days of her youth and her independence. Now it seemed so meaningless and pointless. She wasn't finding any joy in doing any of those things anymore and she wasn't sure if it was depression or just that reality had really started to sink in for her. She was getting older and now that she was all alone she had so much responsibility on her shoulders to think about. There wasn't anyone to fall back on or rely on now.

They were one building away from hers when suddenly Piers grabbed her hand and pulled her into a small alleyway. He pushed her gently up against the wall of the building, a hand falling on her waist. Vivienne's eyes widened and she stared at him in shock as his other hand moved behind her head, weaving his fingers through her hair. Piers leaned forward and crashed his lips into hers. He kissed her hard, possessively. He moved his head to the side, deepening the kiss and slid his tongue into her mouth while his knee moved between her legs. Vivienne let out a small moan and her arm wrapped around his shoulder. His arm tightened around her waist and she let out a small gasp when the kiss broke for a moment before Piers went back in for more.

The kiss was passionate and fevered. She felt like she was floating and gliding, forgetting where she even was for the moment. Piers broke the kiss but kept his lips near hers as he towered over her. He spoke in a gravely, low voice now. "I don't want you to be with any other man." Vivienne stared up at him breathlessly, trying to regain her composure. "Okay.." She whispered, still in a daze from what had just happened. His hand moved from behind her head to cup the side of her face as she stared up at him in disbelief. "You belong to me now, do you understand?" Her heart was beating faster than ever as she studied his bright red eyes that never left hers. "I... Yes.." She responded quietly. He moved his head to whisper in her ear. "I will gladly rip out the throat of any man who dares to even look at you." His hot breath on her ear sent a shiver down her spine. Piers bit her ear lobe playfully and Vivienne moaned softly, her hand on his arm. He leaned down and placed his lips softly on her neck, leaving a trail of kisses before his lips found hers again. This time it was slow and sweet. She was completely lost in him. His hands sent electric sparks through her and butterflies in her stomach. His scent engulfed her, smelling of spices and a smoky vanilla. His lips were impossibly soft. She arched her back as his hand ran down her spine, tongue finding hers in her mouth.

After a moment, Piers pulled away from her to brush a loose strand of hair from her face. "Let's get you home. It's getting late." Vivienne stared at him in confused wonder, still not fully realizing all that had just happened. He moved to hold her hand and pulled her along with him possessively as they made her way towards her building. When they came to the front, Vivienne turned to him. "Would you like to come in?" She asked and Piers smirked in such a way that she felt her heart skip once more. It was a grin that was so devious and handsome at the same time that she realized then how much trouble she was in. "Hasn't anyone ever told you that you shouldn't invite a vampire into your home?"

Vivienne's mouth fell open a bit and she wondered what she had just done. Was that wrong? What did she just do? Piers then laughed darkly and moved his lips to her ear once more. "I don't know that I would be able to control myself if I did." Vivienne's eyes widened at this. What did he mean? He kissed her softly this time once more before taking a step back. "I have some things to take care of and you need to get sleep." He turned to walk away but before he did he faced her once more. "I'm having a .. party. At my home this weekend. You will accompany me." Vivienne nodded, dazed. "Black tie. I'll come get you Saturday evening." With that he walked down the street and disappeared into the shadows. Vivienne stared in his direction. What just happened tonight?
