"Check her spiritual root?" Guardian Qing Luo was surprised. "You have so much faith in her innate talent?"

Jiang Wushuang shook her head. "Why have faith when I am completely sure that she is special?" Her master looked at Jun Xilei again but it was a slightly less cold look.

"Even if she has a special talent for cultivating, her eyes will always hold her back." Guardian Qing Luo said as she shook her head.

"I can overcome it." Jun Xilei spoke out at this time. The master disciple pair looked at her. "Being blind is nothing but a minor setback. Although one of my senses is gone, I still have others that I can use."

"Oh?" Guardian Qing Luo furrowed her brows. "Even if that is the case, in a duel, having no eyesight will leave you at a disadvantage even if the person's cultivation is below yours. Tell me, how will you overcome the odds?"

"I will use their actions against them." Jun Xilei said without hesitation. "Everyone's movements will either create a sound or disturb the air whether they like it or not. I will use these to 'feel' their presence." Jun Xilei's method of defying what should be insurmountable odds could only be described as genius if her theory could be put into practice.

"You definitely have the spirit!" Guardian Qing Luo could only say this. She didn't want to dampen the little girl's mood. "Fine, I will check her spiritual root since you are so adamant." Guardian Qing Luo stretched her spiritual sense into Jun Xilei's body while not expecting anything special. She thought to herself that if the little girl had anything above a green spiritual root, even though she would accept her as a disciple, she would adopt her and take her as her own. Even though at that level, she would be less talented than her disciple, she was cute enough to show off to the other guardians. Did she also mention that she always wanted a daughter?

Jun Xilei felt a mysterious force enter her body. She was a bit mystified by this peculiar feeling. She was then suddenly pulled out of her own thoughts by the force suddenly leaving her body.

"By the gods..." Guardian Qing Luo had suddenly lost all of her demeanor from earlier. Her composure had disappeared. She stared at the little girl with her eyes wide open.

Jiang Wushuang was puzzled by her master's reaction. She had never seen her master lose her composure like this before.

"Wushuang... deliver a message to the sect leader and tell him that I am taking on another disciple." Guardian Qing Luo said through voice transmission before looking at the little girl. Her face was flushed and her breathing was heavy.

Jun Xilei felt the gaze of a predator and backed away while looking at her cautiously. Seeing the little girl back away like a startled cat, Guardian Qing Luo froze before realizing that she had lost her cool. She cleared her throat a few times but was unable to wipe the smile off her face.

"What's your name, little one?" Hearing the warmth in her voice threw Jun Xilei off. She hesitated before answering back. "Jun Xilei."

"Jun Xilei, would you like to take me as your master?" While still in a state of disbelief, she asked the little girl.

"Master?" Jun Xilei was still confused as to what was going on.

"Yes, I will teach you everything I have learned on my path of cultivation. I will treat you like the daughter I was never able to have. What do you say?" She was quite nervous as she said this. But her excitement overpowered her nerves.

Jun Xilei didn't know what to say. She felt that this was all one long dream and that she would wake up soon. 'She wants to treat me as the daughter she never had?' The sentence made her tremble for an unknown reason.

In her past life, she had no family. She was abandoned by a bus stop and taken into an orphanage that was just a cover for an assassin training ring. She only had one person she could call a friend and the only reason was because they forge a bond through exchanging blows. It was the same 'friend' who indirectly caused her death.

She couldn't help but be on high alert hearing this from someone she didn't know well. She backed up another step subconsciously.

"M-master..." Jun Xilei said as her eyes became red. She didn't know just yet. She had some things on her mind. 'As long as I give all of my trust in you, I expect that you won't betray me. If there is a point where you betray my trust, I will escape as far as I can before becoming strong enough to trample over everything you love. This is my promise to the heavens.'

After a while, Jun Xilei finally kowtowed to her master.

Guardian Qing Luo sighed in relief. When she saw the cold light flash through Jun Xilei's eyes, her eyes contracted. She felt that her new disciple had turned into a ferocious beast. Her killing intent almost took shape but then right before she kowtowed, it disappeared.

She stopped thinking about it as she wanted to get her disciple accommodated.

"Senior Sister Qing Luo..." A man suddenly appeared   with Jiang Wushuang. "Is this your new disciple?" Without warning, he appeared beside Jun Xilei. He wanted to rub her hair but found that the little girl's reactions were very quick. His eyes dilated as he saw the girl smoothly evade his hand.

"Not ba-" He stopped talking as he looked into the girl's eyes. "She's blind?" The man was indeed surprised. "It seems like this decision was made for something other than pity... I hear her talent is pretty good."

"Junior Brother Tian. Go ahead and check her spiritual root and you will see why I accepted her." The man who Guardian Qing Luo addressed as her junior brother nodded and sent his spiritual sense into Jun Xilei. After a moment, his face began making the same expressions as his senior sister's.

"Rainbow spirit root? It's actually real?!" Now it was Jiang Wushuang's turn to be shocked. She suspected this little girl to have some talent but for it to be this exaggerated was completely out of her expectations.

The sect leader had a complicated gaze as he looked at Jun Xilei. If she were his disciple, he would be able to laugh all the way to his grave. He felt a little sour.

"Teach her well, senior sister. In a few years, I believe that she can become a pillar that can hold our sect up in the troubling times that are ahead." The sect leader said with a sigh.

"That's a given junior brother." Guardian Qing Luo said with a smile.

After saying this, he bid his farewell. Jun Xilei wanted to see just exactly what it was that she had seen in her mind. The cultivation technique seemed extraordinary so she wanted to use it to see just how good it was.

"Master, Senior Sister... I need to take a bath." Jun Xilei smelled herself and almost passed out.

"Oh..." Jiang Wushuang took her to the bathing area which was an artificial hot spring. Jiang Wushuang left her there to bring her Heavenly Palace sect robes and inner wear.

Settling down in the hot spring, Jun Xilei let out a pleasurable sigh as the water entered her pores. She could also feel something enter her body as she stepped into the water. 'This should be what they call qi or origin energy. Should I try to absorb it?'

She thought this and being very excited, she immediately began to search through her mind for the cultivation mether that flashed through her mind. 'Primal Chaos Veins Cultivation Method...' She was surprised just by how easily she could recall the images in her mind. She was excited by this minor change and began to read through the cultivation method.

After reading through the manual, she quickly began following its instructions.

'Read the mantra, close your eyes and feel around for different kinds of qi...' Jun Xilei did exactly this and at first, there was nothing. All she could see was darkness. She didn't give up and instead, she continued to entrance herself into a deep state of cultivation.

As she went deeper, the surrounding darkness began to change. In the midst of the darkness, tiny specks of light began to appear slowly. To her, they looked like the stars in the deepest and darkest of nights. These stars began to appear slowly at first but as she continued to cultivate, the speed at which they appeared began to increase.

Outside, the moon and starlight began to accumulate over where she was sitting in the hot spring. This light was unable to be seen by anyone at this moment however. Only the person cultivating the technique could see it and even then, Jun Xilei is blind.

Jun Xilei soon began to feel a warm current of air flowing through her body. It began to penetrate her flesh and temper her mortal shell just like what was explained to her by Jiang Wushuang. There was some pain at first but the pain was soon overcome by the gentle warmth and extreme comfort the starlight was giving her.

She felt her body slowly filling up with energy and power as she sat under the stars and absorbed the energy from their light.

After an hour, her eyes flashed open. A smile adorned her face as she felt her originally weak body become stronger and not only by a little. She doesn't really know how strong she is but she should be careful not to break anything.

After dunking her whole body into the spring, she suddenly felt vibrations in the water and on the floor of the spring. These vibrations came in an orderly fashion.

'Are these footsteps? If so...'

"Junior Sister, I have your clothes and your identification card." Jiang Wushuang came around the corner and saw Jun Xilei coming towards the front of the pool and climbing out.

"Big Sis..." Jun Xilei smiled at Jiang Wushuang. She felt comfortable around this senior sister of hers but that's what scares her. She will play it by ear to see what happens. After all, everyone in the sect is stronger than her at the moment.

This being the case, her first objective is to accumulate strength. Only then will she be able to protect herself from everyone here. Her target is reaching the Xiantian realm. She has no idea how long it will take but from looking at her Master and the sect leader, it should take some time.

She gave Jiang Wushuang a smile and thanked her before receiving her clothes. Jiang Wushuang suddenly raised her hand and the water on Jun Xilei's body suddenly began to evaporate. Jun Xilei was stuck looking on in wonder until she was dry.

"Can you teach me how to do that?" Was what she asked as soon as she noticed that she was dry.

"This can only be done once you reach the flesh training realm. With your talent, it shouldn't take longer than a few months." Hearing this, a fire lit in Jun Xilei's foggy eyes.

"Then... Is my accommodation ready? I want to cultivate as soon as possible?"

"Woah! Hold on. How are you supposed to cultivate without a manual to teach you the breathing technique? I have one right here from master herself. With this, you will begin your cultivation journey." Jiang Wushuang handed her a jade slip and even though she was aware that it wasn't needed anymore, she needed to take it so it would look like she was using it.

"Great, now follow me. Your residence is beside mine so let me take you over there." Jiang Wushuang walked her over towards her residence before quickly making her way back to her own.

Jiang Wushuang felt a bit pressured by Jun Xilei. She knew that even though she was stronger than her junior sister for now, it wouldn't stay this way for long. She needs to become stronger so she doesn't get left behind in the future.

Unlike her senior sister, Jun Xilei was over the moon. She felt like all of her bad karma from her past life was turned into good karma for this life. She hurriedly went to her bed and sat on it to cultivate. Her journey is just beginning.
