2 2. Blind?

--A few days after birth--

Darkness and empty void, this is the only thing Gold has seen since the death of his last loved one. Gold figured that he was reincarnated quickly and came to terms with it. In his own words, "This beats sitting in darkness for who knows how long."

However, there was one problem. Gold was born blind. After a few days after his birth, his new parents realized something was wrong with his eyes. They found out he couldn't track or see anything moving right in front of his face. After taking him to the doctor, they found out he was blind.

'Oh, the irony, to be asked by my best friend about what I would do if I were blind only minutes before my death. However, I did give him an answer.

Gold laughed, but all that came out was a baby's laughter which aroused the interest of his mother, who started playing with him.

"My cute little baby."

Gold instinctively started giggling and smiling.

"gagga uga wha" (Damn body! Stop acting on your own)

--5 years later--

Five years later, Gold has gotten used to being blind and can walk on his with a walker. He doesn't have to worry about truck-kun anymore and has been free to go outside (With parental supervision). So far, he has been living comfortably, but that wouldn't last long. He quickly found out that he was reborn into the dangerous world of Ninjas and around the time Naruto and Sasuke were born, no less.

Worst of all, his parents were "nobodies" in the story. His father was a chunin and his mother was a jonin. However, both retired after the 3rd great ninja war and decided to settle down. His Father, Haruto Nara, was an M and allowed his wife to take charge of the family. He loved her yet feared her at the same time. Out of fear, he allowed Gold to be named after his wife instead of inheriting the Nara clan's surname. Haruto was very weak and became a chunin because of his excellent analytical skills.

Gold's mother, Ayaka Tokisaki, on the other hand, wasn't from a famous clan. She was a victim of war. Her village burned to the ground and many of the villagers were killed. Ayaka was taken to an orphanage at a young age. There, she slowly showed her talents in water-styled Justus and kenjustu. Later, becoming a Jonin before her early retirement. Ayaka and Haruto were around the age of Naruto parents and gave birth to Gold within the same here.

Out of fear of angering his wife, he allowed her to name him, thus, Gold Tokisaki.

Blind and in a world full of danger, Gold was slightly depressed when he found out where he was reborn. But, that wouldn't stop him from living the life he wanted. So while he was blind, he trained his body with all the exercises he could think of. Of course,, he couldn't do anything special. He just did bodyweight exercises like push-ups or jumping jacks.

He wasn't as strong as those exaggerated geniuses who could lift boulders at the age of 5. However, he was fit and had a good body foundation.

Gold's dad was cleaning the dishes while his mother was clearing the table when they heard someone heading towards the front door.

"Gold, you want to go out and play? You have to wait for one of us before you go out?"

His mother spoke out to him before Gold could reach the door. He sighed and complained back, "But moooom."

"Gold, you know it's far too dangerous for a young child to be outside alone. Not to mention that you can't even see anything.

He wanted to try and earn some friendship points with naruto before the start of cannon. While he didn't want to rely on him, it was still a good idea to get on the good side of someone you know will become strong.

He knew that many of the villagers discriminated against him because of the nine tails attack on the village. He didn't want his parents to nag him about hanging out with "bad company."

"Fine, but hurry up!"

"If you come and help it'll be done faster dear."

Gold groaned and walked over to help clean up with his parents. After finishing cleaning, he and his mother walked toward the park.

Arriving at the park, Gold looked around to hear if you could find any of the other important plot characters. However, it was quite hard to "hear" people. So he decided to wait until he heard the kids picking on Naruto.

After an hour or so, he heard the kids saying things: "Mom said not to play with him," "Look that guys all alone, what a loser," or "Dad said he is the reason my mom died." Gold knew that they were talking about Naruto and tried to listen for him. He heard a boy sniffing as if he was crying and tried to walk over to him.

"Hey losers, get out of here. Stop picking on him."

Unfortunately, when he was trying to appear as a knight in shining armor, his walking stick missed a tree root and he tripped over it. He fell to the floor and all the other kids laughed at him.

"Hahahah, the blind kid doesn't even know to use his walking st-."

Before the kid could finish his sentence, he felt an intense pressure like some sort of killing intent. With cold swear on his face, he turned around and saw Gold's mother staring daggers at him.

"U-u-u-u-uhh g-g-guys, le-le-lets g-get out of here!"

They started running and Gold's mother help him up and asked him, "Are you alright sweetie?"

"I'm fine mom, thanks."

Ayaka smiled, patted his head,, and then walked back to the park bench. Gold then faced the direction he thought naruto was in and said, "Don't listen to those chumps, they don't know anything."

He smiled at Naruto trying to earn some easy affection points. Then he heard Naruto speak, "Um, your facing the wrong direction."

Gold awkwardly turned towards Naruto's voice and changed the topic. "Let's be friends! My name is Gold, what's yours?"

"F-f-friends? Are you sure? Everyone will hate you."

Gold smirked and said, "Who cares what those kids think! I only care about what my friends and family think. So be my friend!

Naruto smiled excitedly and jumped around. "My first friend, YAY! Can we play together?" Gold nodded his head.

When he got home after playing with Naruto, his mom patted his head and said, "I'm proud of you." Walking into the house while saying nothing else. Gold looked confused and thought, 'She's not telling me to stay away from Naruto?' He walked into the house deep in thought.

After dinner, exercises, and taking a shower, Gold took a shower and lay in bed. He stared at the ceiling wondering how he was going to continue his peaceful life in this dangerous world.

'I can't believe I didn't get a system or anything. Maybe I have to say some magical words?' Gold thought about it and decided to try some activation words.

'System on!...Link start!...Open sesame?...'

Nothing happened. There was only a boy staring at the ceiling who seem to be lost in thought. But in actuality, was yelling activation commands in his head. He thought, 'Maybe I have to say them out loud?'

"System activate!"

~~knock~~

Gold was shocked and his heart raced. 'I have a system?!?'

Then reality crashed on him. He heard his door open and his mother walks in. She seemed somewhat angry and came over to him. She bonked him on the forehead and yelled at him, "SHUT UP AND SLEEP!" Gold cowered and apologized to her.

Watching her leave his room, he silently thought to him, ' I should have expected that it didn't work. It was worth a try I guess." He then went back into the bed and began to sleep.

A few hours into the night, something had happened. If Gold had stayed up he would have heard a monotonous female voice announce something important.

System installation complete.

"Hello master."
