***THUUD***

"Damn alarm!"

A young man stretched his arms out after having a terrible night of sleep. The 20-year-old-looking boy stretched in bed and got up to prepare for school. Walking into the bathroom, he tied up his black, medium to long hair into a bun similar to a samurai. He stared at his reflection as he brushed his teeth. In the reflection, you could see his dark green eyes and tanned skin. He stood at 180 Cm and had a slightly toned body.

He looked at the clock on the wall and widened his eyes. "Damn! I'm gonna miss the train if I don't hurry.

Quickly putting on his clothes and grabbing his stuff, he rushed out of his house and ran to the subway.

--10 minutes later--

Huffing and puffing he arrived at the train station with 5 minutes to spare.

"Luckily I made it in ti-"

Before finishing his sentence someone screamed his name from behind.

"GOOOOLLLDDDD!!!"

Turning around he saw a long-time classmate of his, Charles, rushing into the station.

"You're late too? Hehe, my car battery died so I had to rush here. What about you?"

Gold looked at him and spoke while he shook his head. "I told you, Charles. That thing needed maintenance for weeks, you're lucky it even worked for so long."

Charles laughed and gave a wry smile. "Can't afford it man, I'm living the college 'dream life'. Can't afford to buy anything and im living off of instant ramen."

Both Gold and Charles looked depressed for a few seconds before Charles changed the topic. "Well, nevermind that. Why are you running late?"

"I slept through my first three alarms."

Charles laughed at him and slapped him on the shoulder. "Sounds just like you."

"Whatever man."

They chuckled a bit more and realized the train had arrived. They both walked in and sat down realizing not many people were on the train.

"Why isn't anyone here?"

Gold looked at Charles and wanted a response. Charles looked at him and shook his head.

"Man, you never read the news. Well, last night there was a threat from a terrorist group. They said that they'll blow up the train in the morning."

Gold looked shocked and raised his voice. "What the fuck! Why didn't you tell me and why did the city allow the trains to run today."

"Relax man, the government said they discovered the guy who sent out the threat and recovered the bombs before they even entered the city."

Gold looked skeptically and tried to calm himself down. "Hopefully nothing happens then."

A few minutes after sitting in silence Charles breaks it and asks Gold a question. "Hey, did you hear that the first ever blind man climbed Mt. Everest?"

"Holy shit, thats crazy. I wouldnt even be able to do that normally."

Charles agreed with and added to Gold's statement, "Yeah it's crazy what the people we label as disabled can do. They just as strong as anyone else. On that topic, what would you do if you were blind? I'd live off of government disability, I'm living normally and I already hate this shit."

Gold laughed at his lazy friend and thought about the question. 'What would I do?'

After silently thinking he figured out his answer. "I would want to live comfortably. Whether I had to work hard or not, as long as I can live in peace with friends and family I would be satisfied."

Charles jabbed at him, "That's basically the same thing as I said."

They laughed and continued waiting for the train to reach their stop.

--ERRRR--

---ERRRR---

----ERRRRR---

The train came to stop and the two friends looked outside. Charles looked at the station sign and told Gold. "Last stop before we get off."

"Yup."

The doors opened and a man covering his face entered the train. The man wore a suit and tie while holding a suitcase. Looking very suspicious, he was breathing heavily as if he had been chased by someone.

Before Gold could look at him anymore The train doors closed and started moving again. However, before the train left the station he heard a whistle and one of the guards yell something he couldn't hear.

"STOP th..e tr..."

The noise from the train and the fact the train was moving away from the station made the words inaudible. When they left the station the suspicious man sighed in relief and then grinned.

The train left the tunnel that lead into the station and was tracks over the ocean. Suddenly, a beeping alarm went off on the train.

"Warning, a terrorist has boarded the train. Please remain calm as we negotiate with them. Do not make any sudden movements and conply with their demands."

Gold's eyes widen as he hears the warning and sees the suspicious man pull out a semi-automatic rifle from the suitcase as well as some sort of bomb. The bomb had some sort of attachment connected to the man. The attachment seemed to be some sort of safety and if the attachment was not connected to a person it would instantly explode.

"CHARLIE MICHAEL JAMES YOU SAID IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF!" Gold yelled at Charles as he began to panic.

The suspicious man who turned out to be the terrorist yelled at Gold, "SILENCE OR I'LL BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT."

Gold immediately shut his mouth and complied with the terrorist. However, before the terrorist turned around a muscular man rushed at the terrorist.

***BANG***

Screams could be heard from the train cart as they watched the man get murdered. Gold and Charles were shaking and staring in shock at the dead man that had just been alive on the train with him.

At this moment he realized how fragile life is and closed his eyes. He reopened them after slightly calming his emotions. He looked at Charles and found that Charles was even calmer than he was.

Charles looked at him and secretly showed him something. Gold looked and saw that it was a police badge. 'What! This dude was a cop? I've known him since kindergarten. When did he become a cop.'

Gold whispered to him, "Since when?"

"Last year, it's why we haven't been able to hang out lately. my excuse of having a girlfriend was a lie."

Gold instantly felt relieved knowing that a trained professional was on the train with him.

Charles slowly took out a pistol from his clothes while trying to be as silent as possible while the terrorist looked away.

However, as Charles was pulling it out the train bumped and caused him to fumble the gun in his hands. The gun fell on the train floor and drew the attention of the terrorist.

After turning and seeing the gun on the floor, the terrorist panicked and quickly shot in Charles's direction.

--BANG--

Screams.

That's all Gold heard as his ears recovered from the ringing caused by the gun. After recovering from the ringing he quickly looked at Charles and saw that he had taken a bullet to the chest.

Luckily, the terrorist wasn't a professional and didn't have time to aim. A closer look and you could tell that None of the common vital signs were hit.

In the same moment that he looked at the bullet wound, he saw the gun Charles had dropped. Gold quickly grabbed the gun from the floor. However, before he could orientate himself the terrorist had shot him.

Pain.

That was the only thing he felt was. He had gotten shot around the liver. He couldn't tell nor cared to think about where it was. The pain was too strong. However, he knew he couldn't pass out from the pain. He gritted his teeth and with the adrenaline pumping, he raised the gun and shot the terrorist.

--BANG--

A lucky shot. That's all it was. No training with a gun and had never shot one before. The bulled went straight to the head. Gold sighed in relief and looked at Charles.

"You good man."

Charles looked at him with a worried look and said, "I'm fine no vitals hit. But, that's a different story for you. You've got blood everywhere. If we can't get help you'll die in at least 20 minutes."

Gold signed and understood that more than likely he'll die today. He closed his eyes and thought about his life. 'Sorry Mom and Dad, I never left grandchildren for you.'

In the middle of accepting his death, someone screamed, "THE BOMB, THERE'S STILL A BOMB!"

Gold instantly opened his eyes and ran over to the bomb with Charles.

"How do we defuse this thing?"

Looking at the timer with less than 2 minutes on it. Charles quickly contacted his superior.

"CHIEF, NEED INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE BOMB SQUAD NOW!"

The police chief quickly brought the bomb squad to the radio and they began instructing Charles. However, the time it took for the chief to get the squad had significantly lowered the time. There was only around a minute left.

Listening to the instructions Charles quickly attempted to defuse the bomb. However, over-the-phone type instructions and the fact he wasn't a defusing specialist made it too hard to diffuse the bomb in time.

Realizing this Gold looked at the timer and saw 20 seconds left and knew what had to be done. He quickly pushed Charles out of the way and carefully attached the safety to his body.

Charles tried to stop him but Gold quickly jumped away towards the window.

"GOLD WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

Gold gave him a wry smile, "You know this is the only way."

"Stop I can diffuse it in time. Don't do this Gold."

Gold stated in his eyes for a couple of valuable seconds while thinking about his decision. Then he sighed.

"Tell my parents I'm sorry and that I love them."

Gold looked at Charles and broke the window he stood on the edge and looked at the ocean below him.

"Well Charles... this is goodbye. Thanks. Thanks for being my friend."

Gold jumped off the train and fell towards the ocean. As he was falling he thought about all the good moments in his life. He smiled before thinking, 'I lived a good life.'

'Wait, why didn't I just throw that guys body out with the bomb.'

Gold realized this a little too late and laughed as he fell. 'Well at least I'll die as a hero rather than bleeding out on the train.'

Smiling he closed his eyes and as he hit the ocean the bomb exploded.

Ending his life.

Darkness that's all he saw. He couldn't move and floated around. Gold didn't know how long he was floating but he felt it was long. The only thing he saw before the complete darkness was the aftermath of his death.

He saw his funeral, Charles telling his final words to his parents, Their grief. But for some reason, he couldn't feel sad. Whether it was because he had excepted what had happened or because death caused him to lose his guilt he couldn't tell.

That wasn't the only thing he saw. He saw the lives of his friends and family continue. He witnessed things like his parents living the rest of their lives out to Charles getting married and having children.

He witnessed all their deaths as well. His parents died of old age and Charles died from a car crash in his 70s. He witnessed their deaths yet never met any of them.

'Shouldn't I be in the after life? Is this hell?'

That is what he thought to himself as he watched their lives. However, after the death of the last person, he knew the scenes stopped. He was just sitting in darkness.

After waiting for God knows how long he felt a force pushing on him. He followed the push and felt something. It was air, he felt the air around him for the first time in what felt like forever.

He heard a female voice say out loud.

"Congratulations, it's a boy."

He felt the air around him and heard people, yet he still couldn't see anything. He tried to call out to the voice but all that came out were baby noises.

"whaa agag" (WHERE AM I!)

"Oh it's alright baby, no need to cry"

"ga ga?" (Baby?)

"Look honey, my baby can already recognize his mommy's voice."

"gha ugh" (What the fuck)

He heard a new voice. This one is deeper and more masculine. The voice belonged to a man.

"What should we name him dear?"

The woman hugged his small body and smiled looking at him.

"Gold."

AN:

So I felt inspired to write a little but haven't committed. This was just an idea I thought of and decided to just write. No promises to keep writing after this and don't expect each chapter to be this long. I spent way too much time writing that prologue and almost gave up halfway through it. Anyway, even if I do commit it would probably be at a slower pace. Sorry for the bad grammar that WILL appear.
