1 the prologue

It was my 15th birthday, the day that I was supposed to start my training for being a blacksmith. It was about mid day, the beacon in the sky shining down with such heat that the air was unbreathable, if I'd have to guess somewhere about 35⁰c or more. Fortunately for me my birthday lies within the end of June and it means it's hot, very hot normally.

Now that day I woke up to the angels voice, my sister's, singing something in the kitchen, only if our mother could see how happy she was, how much she loved her and how much inspiration Klaudia took from her.

As typically, no matter the day, my dad, Richard, was outside in his workshop smashing away the hot iron with his hammer and forging the next greatness, little did I know that this time he was forging his last thing...

Opening my eyes to the sun blazing away at my face was no shock, as my window faces directly east, and so it must be a few hours past sunrise, 8 or 9 am my closest guess. As I sat up from the comfy, expensive bed I was greeted with a knock to the door.

"Come in!" I instinctively said.

And so the most gorgeous maid with her biggest smile came rushing in with fresh cloths and special breakfast. A little embarrassed I quickly tried to cover myself with the blanket when her soothing, calming voice giggled "nothing to be embarrassed about, it's natural..." She kept talking about the plan for the day and what I have to do and the times. Yet I don't remember much but the fact I gazed upon her marvelous, infectious smile.

Amy only being a year older than me meant we always liked to talk to eachother about everything and anything. Whilst Amy still talking I abruptly stoped thinking and focused back on listening "so you need to be back before from town by evening to King Harold's palace for the feast, and I think that will be it, if you need anything let me know Henry" she hastily left before I could even say thank you.

I took the next few minutes to think about what a day it is and how for the first time I will be able to learn from the master blacksmith the real secrets to creating a legendary weapon and armour.

After getting changed I headed for the kitchen where Klaudia was preparing food for dad and the lazy Walter, even though he's 17 he never wanted to learn blacksmithing and instead chose accounting and financial shit as he's good at numbers.

"Hey, so how's your morning been so far?" I asked tiredly.

"Well it was good, I woke up at sunrise and got cleaned cuz it's your special day Henry!" She excitingly squealed. "How was the food?" She finished off after a short pause.

"You know you make the best food what's the point of asking!" I replied with a grin on my face.

"Ahh don't be silly, but that was mum's special recipe, actually the last thing I remembered eating before she... You know..." Replied with a slight sadness rising upon her face.

"Hey, Klaudia, please don't be sad it's no one's but my fault okay." Trying to reassure her, she did die during giving birth to me...

"No Henry it's not your fault, it was just her time to go, maybe you are destined to do something great." She mumbled.

After a bit of talking and bonding with Klaudia came Amy, with her radiating positivity and the contentious smile. "I'm going to go clean your ro-" quickly I stopped her and responded " nononono, I'll need something out of there first, then you can."

"Owh okay I'll wait here" she replied confused.

After I cleaned up the "mess" I made and did a few things round the house it was about noon and I still needed to head to town so I can get some things.

As I was taking the money left for me dad came in "Henry! Happy 15th birthday my boy!" Shouted with excitement, and proceeded to give me the biggest and last hug...

"Thank you dad, for everything, and I'm going to be late for the feast, so will you if you don't get ready!" I pointed out to him.

"Owh god yes, I nearly forgot about it! WALTER GET YOUR ASS READY WE HAVE TO LEAVE!" He shouted across the house so he can hear him. "And you need to go buy yourself the fanciest tunic, you're going to feast with Harold in his castle so, look nice" he calmly said.

"Can I take Amy to help me pick one out?" I asked.

"Yes, of course you can" he agreed strongly.

Me and Amy left without even paying attention to what was going on inside the house at this point. After talking and walking for a good 25 mins we made it to the store.

We took our time also fooling about a bit which definitely annoyed the shop owner but we chose the fancy black tunic tunic with a gold stich on the outsides to symbolise the sign of wealth. Whilst I was purchasing it I saw that Amy kept glancing at a fancy red dress and jokingly I said "try it on and if it fits you, I'll buy it for you."
