After asking me more questions his aide left the room. I was alone with the alpha, I dressed the hem of my dirtied black gown properly feeling self-conscious of myself.

"Your dinner will be served in some hours," he said just then my stomach rumbled at the word food. I sheepishly smiled wanting to hide away in embarrassment.

"Let me change that to minutes," he said going out the door. I was left alone in his chambers.

Some minutes later he came back with some maids carrying food on a silver tray. I immediately got up to take it from them. But he stopped me and ordered them to keep it and go.

I mouthed my thanks to them as they left only to receive awkward stares in return. So much for courtesy.

"When you are done eating I would like to inform you about something. " he made his way over to the bed taking off his buttoned shirt. I looked away feeling like I was intruding. I took interest in the ceiling and what other colours it would look nice in.

I glanced at the mirror seeing a little mist in the lower corner of the mirror.

Squinting my eyes to see clearly "Aren't you going to eat?" the alpha said, drawing my attention to him.

"Y-yes alpha?" his brow frowned at my response.

"I told you to address me comfortably when we are alone." He said

My mouth gapped open a bit, I still found it hard to address anyone comfortably however he was the only one I had told my name to.

"Yes…Lucien," I said

"As I was saying, your food is getting cold, weren't you as hungry as I thought" he raised an eyebrow at me.

I picked up my spoon digging into the food brought to me. I couldn't tell if I was unable to eat because of him being in the room.

"You will be assigned a guard from now on" I ate slowly listening to his every word.

"It has come to my suspicion they have come back for you"

"Who," I asked, curiously.

"The two rogue criminals" he answered

"I am not with them, I dont know what they want from me" I started to explain myself.

"I understand your side of the story but it still puzzles me what they want. It was barely a hunch that I thought they would come back, the reason why? is still a mystery. Unless you're not telling me something" he narrowed a sceptical look at me.

I put both hands in the air instantly, "I told you everything I know I swear" I blurted out instantly.

"Okay, your guard will be Trevor he's….."

Cough cough cough

I choked on my food after hearing his last words.

"I should have waited until you ate completely" he stated, watching me down a glass of water.

Then he continued"...the only one I trust who can handle you and keep you safe at all times"

Regardless of my displeased look, there was no way I could refute the alpha. I should be happy he believed my every word. I started to wonder why he did.

"It sounds good," I said

"I know Trevor can be a bit hot-headed but he means well. He sees the pack first before any other thing-"

"Don't you think the same way as him?" I asked regretting it the second it slipped my mouth.

"I also think of the pack but I also care for every wolf I come across. Rogue or not. It doesn't matter as long as I know they aren't a threat." He stated firmly

"You will also be joining in the morning training sessions, being cooped up around must be boring to see."

"It's not" I retorted. Silence. "I meant I didn't mind"

"Okay, so that's all I have to tell you. Oh, and you will be getting a room in the pack" just then I heard a knock on the door.

Trevor walked in giving a slight bow to the alpha, "it's ready" he said.

The alpha looked at me, "he will guide you to your room" glancing at my half-eaten food, "after you finish eating"

I was later shown to my room by Trevor he wasn't as mean as he used to be but that didn't mean he had accepted me.

He was about to leave, "Thank you for everything today" I said gratefully

Silence, " you're welcome," he said and left. Shocked by his response I stared at the door for a few seconds. Was expecting some kind of harsh curse. He didn't curse at me even once. A small smile crept up on my face.

In the alpha's study, late in the night. He and his aide stood side by side gazing into the night moon.

"Have you taken her to her room?" he asked

His aide nodded, " what do we do about their movement? Do you think they are coming back for her" he asked

"They used hypnotism on the young lad daven so it has to be them. It's confusing why they didn't attack her instead" Lucien stroked his chin softly thinking hard.

"What about the girl does she seem entirely oblivious to the situation at hand," Trevor said, he knew his alpha well and the instinct to protect was what he thrived on the most. He wanted to save everyone.

However, he needed to know when to draw the line. If he wasn't going to be weary of her. He would have to step in and keep a close eye on her.

"We just have to wait for a little while and watch her in the meantime." They gazed into the moonlight. Watching the night breeze blow into the trees forcefully.

The aloha thought to himself, I hope this doesn't turn out as bad as I thought it will be.

She lay in her bed, sound asleep into the night. While in the dark shadows a pair of bright blue eyes watched her sleepy slumber.
