King Ivan, second of his name, a young king barely into his thirties preceding his late father King Ivan the first. The nobles lovingly referred to the late king as Ivan the savage for his war to conquer the savage lands. The king died unexpectedly of a new illness thrusting his young son into power. Prince Ivan the second had no interest in ruling the realm and had every intention of stepping aside for his eldest sister Gissela to rule, but she as well as his youngest brother also perished due to the outbreak. With his forces decimated and lack of political experience he turned to his council of advisors, align with the magestrate and have their magic power the army and allow them to push out the trolls of the savage lands.

The magestrate had always been nuetral to the blights of the realms, allowing the monarchy to rule the realm while they toiled away in their towers and libraries creating wondrous illusions and helpful enchantments, never being suspected of creating some of the most oppressive weapons to ever be crafted.

Techno drivers, giant suits of armor, over ten meters tall, equipped with magical weaponry, could demolish whole cities by themselves. The magestrate created a large army of them in secret, giving only fifty of them to the royal family. Under the new leadership of the supreme magestrate Olin the crafty, he set in motion a coupe that would give him supreme power over the realm. Sacrificing Autumnveil was a calculated sacrifice, knowing the attack would allow him to retaliate and over throw the current monarchy putting the magestrate as the ruling governing body and him controlling it all. Using his many spies to spread rumors of the magistrate's lust for power, causing the royal administration to move against them setting in motion the events that followed.

Ivan the second sat in the council room staring blankly into the eyes of the old men expecting him to decide on what actions to take. He thought of his late father and sister and what they may do under these circumstances. They were always better at these sort of political situations, he scratched his chin and furrowed his brow, he hated the power of the throne his bad luck had thrust him on and often wished he could just hand the kingdom to one of his families sister houses but knew the other noble common houses would revolt in a vie for power and that was even worse for the realm.

The king sat there with his council of idiots as the citadel waited for La'velle to send her forces to attack them and allow them to send their own forces. The royal family and their capitol would be wiped off Thre'a and Supreme Magestrate Olin would assume complete control over the realm. He would leave the rubble burning in arcane flames so it could never be rebuilt, a symbolic gesture meant to scare the other houses into aligning with the magestrate.

Ivan looked at an older man in his later forties, battle hardened with the scars across his face to prove it, waiting for him to answer his kings question. The man, adorning the silver armor of a knight stood in front of his king and bowed his head " I have heard rumors and off-hand accounts from spies in the citadel that the supreme magistrate himself wishes to take the crown and implement the magestrate as the ruling administration. So far we have found absolutely no proof to these claims, the magestrate hasn't acted outside of its power, we believe this is a ploy from outside forces to send the realm into chaos." This made the situation even harder to decipher, even if the Magestrate were not trying to overthrow him just the mere whispers would be enough to sow doubt into the rest of the realm and call into doubt his ability to rule the realm.

He looked at a much older man, in his early hundreds easily, wearing white robes that seemed to flow like ever moving rivers of clouds, resembling the mists that blanket the mountains around denizens bay. " If I may your grace," he stood up as if he were under the pressure of a thousand stones, his bones creaked and popped, he let out a slight groan as he reached for the walking cane that sat leaned against his chair. It was black with a curved handle, the handle looked as though the person crafting it decided to quit halfway through giving it a more ominous look as it spirals off to the side for a short distance like a random branch. He rested both hands on the handle, relieving some of his discomfort. " rumors can topple whole governments, and allowing the seeds of doubt to blossom and grow could cause problems for your reign." His old voice had a dizzying effect, the king remembered being scolded many times as a child for falling asleep through his many lectures, even now with the talks of civil unrest and his head being removed from its home, the old Master of history Gregory Of the house Samon made it sound like the dullest affair one could be apart of. The house Samon

"I and many of the lords here on this council believe giving the Magestrate of magic power to govern the magical affairs and cities of the realm was a move that was too short sighted and though at the time it seemed like the best tactical concession to win the battles in the savage lands to expand your glorious empire , our master of arms General Thulne from the house Ulanta, our Grand Treasurer Theodore of the new house fione all agree that we should remove the magistrate's power and leave them as they were, a school of learning."

"Here here!" "Long reign the royal house of Arcanas!" Similar cries rang out from around the table, though most of these lords feared for their own power if the Magestrate managed to push out the current monarchy. The old noble houses had begun to die out to make way for new powerful houses who's families had magic in their blood and mages in their ranks.

There cries of loyalty became deafened by their cries of destruction for the Magestrate and Autumnveil its crown jewel, all pledging men to the cause, the king against his better judgement and overtook with the passion in the room, rallied his council and promised a quick end to this unpleasant business.

"I, King Ivan of the house Arcana, shall cut down the Magestrate until its just a university once again, and if i can't then we shall remove it completely!"
