38 Chapter 38: Twists and Deceptions in Moonlight

Isabella gave her a helpless glare, "What are you talking about? What 'person of concern'?"Her voice dripped with sarcasm, clearly unimpressed.

Annie, looking genuinely perplexed, glanced back and forth between Isabella and Elias, who was standing there, looking like a deer caught in the headlights. 

"Miss, you've pulled out all the stops to get him here, even taking on those tough hunters. Don't tell me... your grand plan was just to show a student the local sights?"

"So what if I did?" Isabella retorted, rolling her eyes.

"Don't play me for a fool; I know you better than that," Annie countered, a sly, knowing smile playing on her lips.

Isabella, clearly getting more agitated, huffed, "Mind your own business!" She grabbed Elias's hand, clearly intent on leaving the scene.

"I've left the family. You're not my butler anymore! You don't speak for my elders!" She declared defiantly, her grip on Elias's hand tightening. 

"Let's go!"
