After a frantic shout, Officer Leon collapsed to the ground, seemingly drained of all his strength, and passed out.

Elias watched in shock. 

What on earth had happened to terrify this young officer to such an extent?

His gaze quickly shifted to Chief Leonardo, who wasn't faring much better.

His face was the epitome of exhaustion, pale as a ghost, and his uniform shirt was almost completely soaked in blood. 

Lying there on the ground, the blood had already pooled into a small puddle on the floor.

"What in the world happened, Chief? Why did he say he needed to leave the City of Saint Rose?"

While questioning, Elias began to assess his wounds. 

There were numerous injuries on his body, and upon tearing open the fabric near the wounds, Elias saw they were deep, bone-visible scratches, seemingly from some beast, not too large, but perilously deep.
