Olivia is pregnant

It was never Olivia intention to be pregnant; this occurred as a result of the disturbance she received from Isabella, her mother-in-law. Nevertheless, she had planned on aborting the baby or participating in activities that would cause her miscarriage, but she needed to do it sensitively. At first, after checking herself and taking a pregnancy test, she realized that she was two weeks pregnant. She then informed Jonathan about it. " Woooo! He was shocked; it looks so weird to him but is already reality; though he knows she will one day take it, not at this point when she has started embacking on her career and the taking of power from her father in law, "This is great news; now my mom won't have much cause to say negative or irrelevant words about us anymore; we have overcome her talk," he spoke.

She sat closer to him, pretending to be happy, but what runs her mind presently is how to take off the pregnancy in any manner. "It also brings joy to me, proving to your mother that I am fruitful and not the other way round as she had thought."Yes, she will be happy when she learns about it." She told him.

Luckily, Isabella heard the conversation she have decided to be a monitoring spirit to the couple, until she have heard a good news from them.

Jonathan must have already angry because she didn't knock before coming in. "You could have knocked, mother; you never can tell what I and my wife are doing.Please, always give us that respect as mature children of yours," he pleaded with her in a polite manner. Even with that, she never thought about what he had said. "I am your mother and am older than you; there is nothing hiding from me; I have learned a lot. Anyways, she sat on the chair in there. "I overheard you people speak of being pregnant; are you pregnant now, Olivia ?" She asked out of curiosity. Olivia, swallow her pride, and act humble—all these are strategies she has planned in order to get the entire family's support in her career, most especially from her mother-in-law. "Yes, mother, it has been confirmed that I am pregnant, and I believe now I can rest in this house." She said. "Now you have my support in all you do, even the political aspect, and for Christopher, I will know how to take care of him. Just make sure that nothing happens to my grandchild, and always see the family doctor for a proper checkup; it is essential." She advised her.

Isabella also went to the point of suggesting to her what to do and what kinds of activities not to engage in until she had finally given birth. She left the room, leaving Jonathan and Olivia behind.

"The election is almost here, and you know I can't handle being president with such, knowing fully that I will be so heavy during the campaign and election process. Shortly, the purchase of tickets will commence, and I pray I don't miss out." She complained.

As usual, Jonathan laughed quietly, and he promised to make sure that his father, the outgoing president, whose tenure is coming to an end, will surely create a means by which she won't be left behind. "Trust Hudson, my dad, your father-in-law; he will do everything in his power to work it out for you. So keep calm. Alabama power lies on our hands, taking it from us is very rare" He gave her his word.

A few days later, she met with Hudson for a preliminary discussion after much thought about the pregnancy and how it would affect her career. As she went in, Hudson wasn't really happy with her; to him, she shouldn't have allowed pregnancy at that moment, knowing fully that she had a big tax ahead of her. "You almost destroyed our plans; why allow to be pregnant? Do you lack knowledge of the use of contraceptive or you want to lose this opportunity and dash it out to Christopher?" he asked her.

"It wasn't my intention to take her in; rather, your wife, the first lady have be on my neck, she always sound it like an Athen, wanting the pregnancy by all means. So I have no option other than to give her a momentary joy." She answered him. Again, he is not satisfied with her word. "Just know what you do concerning it, I will love you to be much more effective in this election making sure that your overshadow Christopher. He is taking more than he can chew, so wake up from your sleep and know what you are doing." He paused and continue, "The baby in your womb is my grandchild, yet it is not essential for now. You have much time to give us children, which is when you will have become the president, not just the president, but the first in history with a young age of leadership; it is a credit to me." He sounded so proud.

She calmed him down and made an attempt to know how and where Christopher had gotten to with his decision. "Well, not much measure has been carried out on it, but mark my words, he won't smell the position, let alone be pronounced president. It doesn't matter the backings he had got; I am in power and I will continue to be, and I must make sure that the resources and respect of this Alabama are under my control." He selfishly spoke out.

Olivia nodded her head; she had already felt comfortable and gotten assurance from what he had said. "If he had thought that power was given to you because of him, what then stopped him from contesting at first, but rather he chose to be your vice?" She asked him.

He continued looking at her and twisting his lips, hitting the floor with his feet. He knows quite well that power doesn't exist without wealth. Though he won the election, which he achieved with the influence of the Alabama wealthy men who have supported him, including William's family, that gave him much financial support.

Yes, William didn't confront him on the aspect of taking Olivia from his family; his reason is that he has known for many years to be a man of peace and the family, a home where even the common man feels comfortable to dine with. Taking up a fight against him because of Olivia is like fighting in vain since she has made up her mind to choose her political career over his son Charles.

Now, Hudson spoke after some silent. "My daughter, at first, please, we are biting the finger that fed us. Yet the finger still remains calm, and don't want to react," he said.

"Simply because the fingers see us as special and see the importance of being among our fingers," she answered him. But if I should ask, why use such an adage on this? Who have we offended?" she asked.

"Don't worry; gradually you will get to know what it takes to be in power, and for the finger, since it didn't react, it is a sign that we are bigger than him." In his mind, he was to ask her to destroy the pregnancy, but suggesting such will in another way make him seen as an irresponsible man. So he remained calm, waiting to hear that she was no longer pregnant. "I have my plans on what to do. And for Christopher, your wife, my mother-in-law, has promised to handle him, ever since she got to know that I am pregnant."

He smiled. Be happy, but to a limit. "I have known Christopher much; he is never a man that welcomes women's advice; he only stands on what his wife has said or discussed with him. Speaking of Isabella what relationship have she build with the Christopher family all this years", even if she does, it is never strong to the extent of trying convincing the family to quit their decision; Isabella, my wife, loves being herself; nevertheless, no one can tell how her attempt may change him; let's keep watching," he responded to her.
