Annabelle had arrived at Quinn's Real estate development company bright and early that morning. As his assistant she was in charge of checking his schedule,fixing meetings,handling his trips and overseeing the reports submitted from various departments. She had a lot on her plate. The company's latest project involved finding suitable sites for development. It was a big task,one that the research and development teams had been working on.

As she settled into her office, Annabelle noticed a flashing light on her computer. Curious, she opened her email and found a plethora of reports from the R&D department . The company had been working on a new project. Annabelle knew that it was her responsibility to sort through these reports and present them to her boss later in the day.

Alright mother, I'll bring her home this weekend, he said before ending the call. He glanced at her.

"Thank you Annabelle I'll review the report" he assured her.

"Miss Annabelle" his voice came again,it's official we're seeing my parents this weekend so get ready,I'll pick you up on Saturday morning he told her.

"By the way Fix a meeting in thirty minutes time.I have an important announcement to make."

Annabelle took note of the instruction. "Okay sir"

"Thank you Annabelle"he said and picked up the file glancing through it.

I'll excuse myself if there's nothing else

"You may leave" he said calmly, signaling her to leave.

As Annabelle got back into her office, she suddenly felt the need for a break. She picked up her phone and dialed her brother's number. They had always been close, and Annabelle valued his opinion and support.

"Hello, cupcake. To what do I owe the pleasure?" her brother's deep baritone voice greeted her over the phone.

Annabelle took a deep breath, knowing that what she was about to say might not sit well with her brother. "I'm getting married, bro," she said, straight to the point.

"What?" her brother's voice thundered through the phone. He couldn't hide his shock and anger.

"Are you kidding me?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief. "You're getting married without our parents' consent? Has it really come to this?"

Annabelle tried to remain calm, despite her brother's anger. She knew that he was protective of her and wanted the best for her. She took a moment to gather her thoughts before responding.

"Calm down, brother," she said, her voice steady. "Let me explain."

Annabelle, Mr. Quinn's assistant, attentively jotted down notes during the meeting, ensuring that all the ideas and suggestions were captured.

After the meeting concluded, Mr. Quinn called for everyone's attention once again. The mood in the room shifted as he announced that he had an important announcement to make. As he cleared his throat, a hush fell over the room, and all eyes turned to him.
