Chapter 47: Plan In Motion

Helina had already sent a text to Kurt and of course, he was eager to see her. Because he was blinded by his obsession for her, he hadn’t even questioned her change of heart towards him. Were males all this easy to manipulate? She would be bored if Chase was.

She’d made dinner and they’d made love twice. Chase snored a little that was how Helina knew he was asleep. Besides making love, they’d talked for hours, and the sun was going to be making an appearance within the hour.

It was time to see her plan to its end. She took a long look at Chase, but he didn't stir.

She slipped out of bed and then sent a text to Gromit. She would be ready in ten minutes. She'd laid out clothing in her apartment so as not to disturb Chase while she dressed. All in black, she rode the elevator down to the lobby.

She climbed into his police-issued car. It smelled of fast food and body odor. “Nice car.”

“A loaner. I think it was a stakeout car,” he said. “That would explain the smell of grease.”
