Chapter 45: Where's Kurt?

Helina returned to the city after Harlan’s celebration. She still wasn’t sure that she would stay in the city, but she had to give this thing with Chase a chance. She knew that much. Maybe the decision would be clear once she and Chase had more time to talk. He hadn’t said he loved her. She hadn’t said it to him either. A man like Chase might not want a commitment the way she was thinking. He also had no idea that they were fated mates.

He didn’t grow up in a pack so it might be a difficult concept for him to understand. She couldn’t spring it on him, but they had to talk.

She put her bag in her apartment then went through the kitchen to find Chase.

“Helina?” he said, meeting her in the doorway to his living room.

He took her into his arms, kissing her head and her face more than once.

“I guess you’re happy that I’m back?” Helina asked.

“Just a little, but there’s someone here to see you.”
