Chapter 40: Helina To The Rescue

Helina knew where Kurt most likely brought Chase. To the woods. That was a miscalculation on his part. She needed to regroup, so she walked the last few blocks to their penthouse. Someone would call the police and then she’d be delayed, so she left. She didn’t care if that was a crime in the human world. So was kidnapping and she was the only one who could get Chase back.

It was what Kurt wanted, but she didn’t care. She’d figure out how to deal with him once Chase was safe.

When she returned to the penthouse, Cole was waiting in the lobby. He gave her a kiss on the cheek which was unexpected. She’d only met him once before.

“Cole?”

“I was supposed to meet Chase.”

“He was detained.”

That wasn’t a lie. He was kidnapped was the better term, but Cole didn’t need to know that. Cole took a hold of her face. “You’re bleeding. What happened, Helina?”
