Chapter 30: Helina Needs To Think

Helina couldn’t sleep tight. She had listened to Chase’s explanation and part of her believed him, but it still meant her reaction had been about her own emotions. She’d been concerned that the woman in the bathroom had been telling the truth. If Helina didn’t have feelings for Chase, she would have laughed it off as the woman being psycho.

Since she did have feelings for Chase, this wasn’t so easily shoved aside. Helina had reacted like a jealous lover instead of a personal assistant. That worried her. She’d thought she’d kept her feelings under control, but she hadn’t.

This presented a dilemma. Chase smelled like her mate, but he couldn’t be. She was falling for him and he most likely was not interested. She couldn’t be in love with a human. It wasn’t forbidden, but she would be thrown out of her pack for it. Besides, a human couldn’t live among wolves, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to live among humans for the rest of her life.
