Chapter 15: Chase Takes Helina Shopping

Helina hadn’t been brought up with money and the only clothes she had were from a thrift sale, but the store that Chase took her to was beyond her wildest imagination.

It had soft music playing and overstuffed couches. When they entered the store, the saleswoman handed them glasses of champagne. “Welcome to Giardi’s. I’m Emily Giardi.”

Chase settled onto a plush green couch. He looked as if he owned the place. “Nice to meet you, Emily. I’m Chase. This is my assistant Helina. She needs a few business suits and most importantly a cocktail dress.”

Helina opened the closed her mouth. She wasn’t used to someone taking charge like this. If Chase was paying then she guessed he had a say in this endeavor.

Emily took her hand and led her to a dressing room. “I’ve got just the thing for your coloring.”

The woman instructed her to strip down to her underwear while she picked out some things.

Emily came back with some suits and two dresses. She hung them on a hook inside the room.
