Chapter 14: Her First Plane Ride

Helina strapped herself into the seat on the plane with trepidation. She wasn’t sure how this was going to go and because she was frightened, her wolf wanted to come out to defend whatever threat there was. She was having a hard time keeping it at bay.

This was a new experience on every level and she had to keep her wits about her.

“You okay?” Chase asked, sitting next to her and buckling in. “I can get you a drink?”

She didn’t want to face him in case her eyes were red, but if she didn’t she would make the situation awkward. “I’m okay.”

She shifted her glance away from him quickly.

“You sure?”

“Yes, thanks, I’ll be fine.”

“We’ll take off in a few minutes, the pilot said. It will be smooth most of the way there.”

“Okay.”

She had no idea what she was in for and whether smooth was a good thing or not. Chase pulled a folder out of his backpack and opened it on his lap, but he kept glancing at Helina.
