Chapter 10: Chase Will Keep Her Safe

Chase led Helina from the car and then to the elevator. “I want to show you something.”

“Okay.”

She had nowhere to be so she followed him into the car. They stopped at the lobby. It was an option that Helina had only used when she left the building to hunt a few nights ago. A different doorman was on duty now.

“Kendricks. This is Helina. She’s my assistant. We have reason to believe that her ex may be stalking her.” He turned to Helina. “Do you have a picture of him?”

“His name is Kurt and I don’t. Sorry,” she said.

“No problem. Describe him.”

“Brown hair, brown eyes. He’s shorter than Chase here. Lanky more than muscled,” she said.

“Kendricks? Can you make sure all of the doormen know about this? We’re worried he knows that Helina lives here.”

Kendricks touched his cap. “Of course, sir. You might want to alert my supervisor because he’ll be able to circulate the information better than I can. We pride ourselves on our security here.”
