The Big Surprise

As I had initially suspected, Zayn went above and beyond for this whole night out dinner setup. I'm so overwhelmed, I don't know how to act , I'm just feeling so much appreciated.

He had a whole restaurant booked for my kids and ourselves. Our kids I mean, as he's always reminding me that these are our kids from now going forward.

We have eaten already, had dessert and now the twins want to sleep.

"I hope you guys won't mind spending the night at my place tonight?" 

As he's saying this , his eyes are fixed on the twins , I'm pretty sure he's seeking their approval and it won't really matter what I think or say next. 

Their words are law when it comes to him. Even if they'd want to spend the night on Mars , he wouldn't have a slight problem with it. 

"I do uncle Zayn, I'm also speaking on behalf of my sleepy brother!"

Madison is showing me flames tonight, I mean? What if that's not what Avery wants? But who am I kidding because they are like one soul in two different bodies.

I glance at Zayn and he seems happy with Madison's response. I'm content with that.

His driver who fetched us earlier is here. I think he has been here the whole time , now that I think about it. Could he be one of Zayn's bodyguards? Let me make a mental note to ask him about that later. Why would he needs bodyguards? 

I hope he's not in any kind of danger which he could expose me and my kids to.

I have the heavy Avery in my arms, a man I don't know seems to be coming straight at me , I look over at Zayn to see if he's noticing this and he gives me a nod. Okay…what's going on here? 

The guy in Black shiny suit is right in front of me now , isn't he blocking my way?

"Please hand me the boy ma'am , I'll take him to the car."

I do as he says because Zayn is approving but I don't like this one bit. My children being handled by strangers that is. But I don't want to create drama, especially not tonight after this man just treated me like a Queen.

This isn't the same car that bought us here earlier. This is definitely bigger. He knows I'm curious and I need my curiosity fed, that's why he's avoiding eye contact. Sly.

But I won't let him get away with this. I think it's high time he actually told me exactly what he does for a living because he changes cars like socks and tells me he's just a businessman. 

As we are riding, I notice that he has a playlist set. I can hear my favourite songs buzzing through the speakers , my heart is full. The twins are sleeping comfortably in the back seats. 

My head is on his chest, I'm singing along to my favourite songs, he keeps kissing my forehead. 

I momentarily look up to him and his gaze is strong down on me , I quickly look away as I feel butterflies in my stomach , I get up from his embrace and look out the window.

We are entering a different neighbourhood. I've never been here before , did he book a place for us to spend the night? As I'm looking at him , I know he senses my curiosity, he just smiles at me.

Lord , this is gorgeous! I've always seen big beautiful houses but this one is smaller and more cute. 

As we step outside the car, my breath is definitely taken away , my kids are loving this place , the look of amusement is visible on their faces. Zayn is just his forever smiling self.

How did I score myself a man who cares as much as he does? It's like he's living to see us smiling and I'll forever be grateful.

Again , these drivers stick around. Isn't he supposed to call them when he needs them? Exactly. They are more like security details. Mr. Zayn has some explaining to do later , remind me.

So basically this house's entrance is actually here , upstairs. A kitchen, dining , sitting areas , pool table , a bar area , a swimming pool garages are here. Bedrooms are downstairs. 

I haven't seen the whole house yet but trust me when I say it's heavenly. My smile keeps growing the minute.

"I'm also sleepy now mommy." 

That's Madison , she looks and sounds so tired. My poor baby. Before I say something , Zayn calls out their names 

"Maddie ,Avery. I know y'all sleepy pumpkins. But I have one more surprise for you guys." 

This man of mine has too many surprises up his sleeve , I mean, what more is he about to surprise us with?

He blindfolds both Avery and Maddie.

We now on the staircase going downstairs for the last surprise of the night.

I cannot believe the amount of beauty I'm seeing. We get into this room in Grey and Black. Those are Avery's favourite colours…could this be…?

"This is your room buddy."

Zayn removes the blindfold from Avery and he's just speechless , I guess he's confused , my poor son. His hands are on his head , he keeps moving around this room , checking things out , it's a cute sight to see. Especially the smile on his face , my heart is full.

Oh! My princess. We move along to the opposite room. It's all in Purple. Exactly what Madison would go for. I do the honours to remove her blind fold and Zayn speaks 

"And this is yours Princess." 

I didn't know my girl could scream like that! The tears on her eyes are making me so emotional on my own. 

I wasn't ready for what they do next , they just go over and hug Zayn , dragging him down on Madison's bed, they are both clinging on to him , all giggling , I hear light "thank you uncle Zayn's" I'm crying!

"Come here Mommy." 

Zayn's eyes are fixed on me as he extends his hand for me , I walk slowly over to them.

"Guys this bed is small , there's no way we could all fit here!" 

I say laughing and they all join me 

"With all those curves and all? I highly doubt my lady."

See what I'm talking about? Zayn has a way with words. 

"I love you guys but please get out of my room, I need my beauty sleep. Thank you again uncle Zayn. You are the best." 

Madison's words leave us all speechless and smiling non stop , I haven't really said anything from Avery. He's being quiet as always but something tells me that there's more to it today. 

I gesture for Zayn to cuddle Maddie to sleep while I go out with Avery to his room.

And as always , my man is happy to do as I say. I'm so blessed.

Avery and I settled down on his bed.

"How are you feeling my boy?" 

He's quiet. Unusually quiet. I'm worried.

"Avery?"

"Mom."

"Are you alright? You've hardly said a word since we got here."

"I'm okay mom. I've just been thinking about daddy. Will he ever come to see us?"

Here we go again. I don't know how much my heart can take from this conversation. But I'm their mother so I have to give answers, even though my answers are not what they always want to hear.

"He will come when he's ready my boy , don't worry about it. I'll always be here for you , don't forget that."

"Is Uncle Zayn going to be our dad as he said?" 

"Yes he is. If you want, do you?"

"Yes I do. As long as he won't leave too."

"I'm not going anywhere Avery , I promise."

When did he get here? 

"Where is Maddie?"

I enquire about my daughter.

"She's fast asleep. Now you also need to get some rest camp."

Zayn's words make my heart flutter with joy and fulfilment. The way he is so involved in my kids' lives is just amazing, I don't know how I would ever thank him for effortlessly stepping up like this.

It doesn't take that much effort to put Avery to sleep. We are now chilling by the pool having cold drinks. 

"Thank you so much for tonight Zayn, the kids are happy & so am I. I appreciate you so much."

"Anything for you babe."

"But baby , you didn't have to decorate their rooms , they are going to be so attached…"

I say with my voice laces with concerns.

"I bought this house yesterday, Kattie. It's yours. It's technically still on my name but that's just a sign away from being fully yours. You can change anything you don't like."

No, this can't be right , what???

"Wait , what do you mean Zayn? This whole house? I cannot afford a house like this , I have my own place , what's going on?"

"I know my love but I bought this house for you and the kids. You can either sell it , get what you like or move here. I also don't mind moving in with you guys , that's if I'm invited. You said you don't want to move in with me , but I do want to move in with you." 

I'm speechless, what is this man talking about? Can someone wake me up from this dream?!
