Christopher’s apology

Abigail lifted her head, wiping her tears away. Her movement paused, and her jaw fell apart when she witnessed the scene unfolding in front of her.

Christopher was peeing in the backyard under a tree, his back facing her.

He had mentioned that he needed to use the restroom. At the time, she assumed it was just another of his excuses for letting him into the house. She felt sorry and angry at the same time.

'Why is he so adamant? Couldn't he just go away?'

Christopher breathed a long sigh of relief. He had been holding the urge to pee for so long, hoping she would open the door, but she didn't, much to his dismay. Sensing she was not going to let him in any sooner, he thought it was better he peed here.

It was getting dark, and no one would notice him. But he had no idea that Abigail was watching him. He zipped up his fly and turned around, his eyes moving to the window on the first floor. He smiled awkwardly, embarrassed.
