Chapter 21

Cynthia was sitting on the huge brown couch of the sitting room with her two legs placed on the small table in front of her as Ann the maid kept on massaging her toes.

Since Daniel and Jerry had departed to work and her husband too had left for an important meeting she kept herself busy by watching her favorite TV program that was on display on the TV.

As she was enjoying the movie suddenly she heard a knock on the door and she signaled Ann to go and check who it was.

After some seconds she returned with Lucy.

"Hey Lucy, how are you?" Cynthia asked once Ann returned with Lucy.

"Good morning Mrs. Cynthia, I'm fine and you?" Lucy inquired.

"I'm fine too, please have a seat " Cynthia said to Lucy who was still standing and immediately she sat down on one of the couches opposite her.

"Please Ann go get her juice" Cynthia ordered Ann who started heading to the kitchen.

After some seconds she returned with a tray containing a jug of orange juice and a glass cup and kept it in front of Lucy and immediately she returned to the kitchen.

"Please Lucy manage the juice, I don't have alcoholic beverages here" Cynthia said to Lucy teasingly and she faked a smile.

"So Lucy, what do I owe the surprise visit because if it's Jerry or Daniel you want to see they are not around they have all left for work" Cynthia said to Lucy without getting her gaze off the TV.

"Well it's you I wanted to see" Lucy said Cynthia while sipping her juice and immediately Cynthia turned her gaze towards her.

"I need your help" Lucy said to Cynthia while dropping the cup of juice she was holding.

"And how may I help you?" Cynthia asked Lucy with an inquisitive tone and Lucy heaved a sigh.

"Jerry got an appeal against me in court, he accused me of assault and restricted me from coming near him and I need you to help me and talk to him" Lucy informed Cynthia who shook her head in disbelief.

"Lucy I would really love to help you, but I can't. Jerry and I don't get along so I don't think there is anything I can do to help you" Cynthia informed Lucy frankly.

"You mean there is nothing you can do about it?" Lucy inquired and Cynthia nodded her head negatively.

"So after what I did for you I'm going to be the loser here right?" Lucy inquired with an angry tone and Cynthia turned her gaze towards her angrily.

"Did you just say after what you did for me?" Cynthia inquired angrily. "For your information you didn't do anything for me, we did all we did for our personal interests not for anyone or am I wrong?" Cynthia inquired and Lucy remained silent.

" Lucy I think you have overstayed your welcome, now get out of my house." Cynthia ordered Lucy angrily.

"Are you chasing me out of your house?" Lucy inquired surprisedly.

"Yes of course I'm chasing you out and I want you to get this into your head, I was never going to allow you to marry Jerry even if it depended on me" Catherine informed Lucy and immediately she widened her eyes in surprise.

"What!" Lucy exclaimed surprisedly. "If you weren't going to allow Jerry to get married to me then why did you convince me to help you in ruining the relationship of Jerry and Catherine?" Lucy asked Cynthia.

"I think you already know the answer to that question" Cynthia replied Lucy with a smirk on her face.

"So you and Daniel used me for your own interest?" Lucy said to Cynthia while fighting not to let out the tears forming in her eyes.

"You can call it whatever you want but I don't care. This is the last time I will say this, get out of my house." Cynthia ordered Lucy angrily and immediately tears started streaming down Lucy's face.

"You are nothing but a devil and I hope one day that you and your son will rip what you are sowing" Lucy said to Cynthia with tears flowing down her cheeks and immediately Cynthia laughed at her maniacally.

"You know what Lucy, I won't tolerate you coming to my house and using abusive speeches on me. Since you won't leave on your own maybe the security will help you out" Cynthia said to Lucy while picking her phone from the couch and immediately she started calling the security.

"Lucy stared at her angrily for some seconds with tears flowing down her cheeks before taking her handbag.

"Don't think it's over between us, sooner or later you will hear from me" Lucy threatened Cynthia angrily before heading towards the exit door.

"Rubbish" Cynthia mumbled angrily to herself before sitting down on the couch.

"Ann come and clear this orange juice that this drunkard left here" Cynthia screamed from the sitting before returning her gaze towards the television.

The afternoon sun was slowly getting to its zenith, the doctor was just returning from his appointment.

He was sitting in his office enjoying the fresh air produced by the AC while staring at nothing when suddenly he heard a knock on the door of his office.

He stood up and walked to the door and unlocked it because he locked it from the inside.

Once he opened it he saw Jerry standing in front of the door and immediately he remembered that he had an appointment with him by one o'clock.

"Hi Jerry please come in, I almost forgot that I had an appointment with you by this time" The doctor said to Jerry while making the road for him.

Once Jerry came in he sat in the chair opposite the doctor's desk.

"So Jerry, what health issues do you have?" The doctor asked Jerry while peering into Jerry's eyeballs as if he was trying to detect the sickness from his eyes.

"No doctor, I don't have any health issues, I came here because of another issue." Jerry informed the doctor.

"And what issue is it about?" The doctor inquired.

" Please doctor, are there security cameras in the ward where my father was kept three weeks ago?" Jerry asked the doctor and immediately the doctor furrowed his brows at him.

"Yes there are hidden cameras in every ward " The doctor replied.

"Can I have the footage of the afternoon after my father underwent his treatment, around four to five PM?" Jerry inquired.

"Yes but there must be a valid reason for that." The doctor informed Jerry.

"Please doctor, I need that footage to save my relationship with my girlfriend." Jerry explained to the doctor and immediately the doctor smiled.

"Does your girlfriend think you are cheating on her?" The doctor asked Jerry while smiling.

"Yes doctor and that footage is the only evidence I have to prove her wrong." Jerry informed the doctor.

Women, they always think we are cheating on them" The doctor replied and Jerry faked a smile.

Afterwards the doctor took his phone and placed a call across the security assigned over the cameras and discussed with him for some minutes.

When he hung up the call he looked at Jerry and smiled.

"The security will be here in some minutes" The doctor informed Jerry who nodded in agreement.

After that the both of them started discussing.

As they were discussing they heard a knock on the door and immediately the doctor asked the person to come in and immediately the security came in and handed a drive to the doctor.

The doctor thanked him and informed him that he would see him before leaving and the security nodded in agreement and left.

Once he left the doctor handed the drive to Jerry who thanked gratefully.

Before leaving Jerry tried giving him some cash that he will give to the security but the doctor told him not to worry about it so that he will take care of it.
