WEDDING RECEPTION

GRETA'S POV

I sat by the head table forcing myself to finish to remaining food on my plate.

He didn't say a word to me from since we came here. He didn't even eat with me. Matter of fact, he wasn't even next to me. For the whole night, all he had been doing

is talking to people. I don't know if they were his family or friends because he didn't even bother to introduce me.

A few people came and introduced themselves to me as associates of my father but other than that, nobody came. I wondered why.

"Can I get everybody's attention?" The MC asked and we all turned to him. "A little birdy told me that the bride is a dancer." crowd started cheering.

"Now where is our groom? Our stomachs should be full now so let's make the bride and groom have their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Anastasia!"

The crowd cheered and he looked upset. He obviously didn't want to do it.

One of the guys around him pushed him into the center and he looked up to me.

"Let's go Greta! Show him how to dance!" Someone in the crowd shouted.

I kicked off my heels before standing and heading to the dance floor where he was standing.

The music started playing and I took his hand.

We started rocking slowly to the best of the song.

My eyes looked looking away.

I looked back directly to my line of sight which was his chest as we continued dancing.

Neither of us spoke a word to each other.

I looked back up again only to see him already looking down on me.

Our eyes instantly locked and we continued staring at each other.

"Could you do me a favour?" I broke the silence.

"What?" He asked already annoyed.

"Can you at least like you care in front of Alice? I don't want her to know I married an asshole."

He scoffed. "And why would I do that?"

"I don't want her to feel guilty for not

coming to work for you." "That's not my problem," he rudely answered.

"You know you can just be a basic human being for once."

"It seems like you love your best friend," he said. "Looks like I will have to kill her if you misbehave."

I felt a pit in my stomach.

"I'm begging you. Just please keep our hatred for each other a secret. Let's make it our secret."

"Fine," he agreed as the song stopped.

He started walking away and my eyes widened when I realized he was heading in Alice's direction.

I quickly ran behind him to stop him but I was too late.

"You must be Alice," he said as he stretched out his hand for a handshake.

"You must be Albert," Alice smiled as she shook his hand. He turned to Eve. "This is my sister, Eve."

"Nice to meet you," she said as she and Albert shook her hand.

She was so shy and cute. I love her.

"I know you," he said to Albert.

Alice laughed as she e folded her arms. "I don't think we've met."

"We didn't have to. I follow you on social media. Your beauty parlor is coming up pretty and I can't forget that you're quickly making your name move up the rank list."

Both Alice and I watched him impressed.

"I think you're a good at what you do Alice."

I glared at him for his bluntness. He was doing the exact opposite of what I told him. To make it even worse, Alice was a hothead.

Suddenly Alice bursted out with laughter. "I really like him, Greta!"

"Thanks for the compliments Albert."

A man walked up to Albert and whispered something into his ear. Albert then stretched his hand and shook both Alice and Eve's hands. "I am so sorry but something came up. It was nice meeting you both."

He walked away and Alice smiled.

"You know, I was a bit skeptical about you marrying a stranger," Alice started.

Eve sighed. "He wouldn't shut up about the possibilities. He was like what if she doesn't like him or what if he's some kind of serial killer."

"Why would you tell her that," he glared at Eve and she laughed before kissing his cheek.

"I'm really happy for you Greta. I'm going to get some drinks for Eve and I."

I smiled since it was just Eve and I.

She immediately hugged me. "I'm so happy for you too, Greta. He is so hot!"

"Thanks Eve."

"I told you that you would find the one. You just needed to be patient. Maybe you needed that guy to cheat on you. It happened to me and now I couldn't be any more happier with my current boyfriend Kingston."

I forced myself to smile. If there was any chance of me ever finding the right one, I blew it.

I'll be married for the rest of my life to this terrible man.

"I'm happy too!" I lied.

I looked across to see Albert walking out the door with some people. Is he seriously leaving his own wedding right now?

"I'm sorry Eve, give me one second," I said before rushing towards the door.

I tried to leave but some man stepped in my way.

"I need to leave. Could you please excuse me."

I looked out the glass and saw Albert entering the car.

"Sir, please move!" I asked irritated but he stood still and looked ahead of him.

"Princess, what are you doing? You are causing a scene." Dad came out of nowhere.

"This man is not letting me leave and Albert is about to dip!"

"Hmm, this looks like one of Albert's men. Sir, please step aside."

The man immediately moved and my mouth dropped.

Dad went outside and I tried to follow back the man stepped back in my way.

"Are you serious right now? Why are you standing in the way?"

Dad came back. "It looks like Albert told him not to make you leave. Will you be her new bodyguard?" Dad asked but he didn't answer.

I watched as the other men entered the car that Albert went in. "He is leaving!" I complained and dad looked out the window.

He sighed. "Are you kidding me right now? Let me go talk to him. Just wait here princess." With that, the bodyguard moved and dad went to the car.

I watched as Albert rolled down the window to talk to dad before turning back.

"You can talk now, it's just me and you," I said. "If you're going to be my new bodyguard you have to talk. I love talking." He made not a sound.

I sighed before seeing Enzo roll up window and driving off. Dad came back inside.

"Well, what happened?" I quickly asked.

"He left. He said something came up."

"What? What could possible be more important than his wedding reception? We didn't even cut our cake yet!" I angrily said.

"He said to tell everyone to go home."

I shook my head. "I can't believe this."

I mean I wasn't exactly having the greatest time but I didn't just leave like he did.

A lot of people are here and he just ended it like it was nothing. Your guard, Luca. He will be taking you home now."

Dad called over Eve and Alice

"Well I guess this is goodbye," Alice said.

"For now," I quickly corrected her and hugged her

"Promise we'll still call everyday?" She asked and I nodded my head before hugging her again

"You will always be my princess," dad said before hugging me. "You can handle anything that will come your way."

I nodded. "What about the people? I can't just leave."

"Don't worry about that, I have it covered princess. Just go home as your husband has requested."

With that said, Luca held my arm and dragged me out the building.
