“Mommy!” Jack cried out when Lia walked into the TV room where he and Ryan were watching television.

“What are we watching?” Lia asked as she gently eased herself onto the couch. She was six months pregnant, yet she felt like she was ready to pop. She put her hand to her stomach and was rewarded with a kick.

“Can I kiss the baby, Mommy?” Jack asked.

“Sure, squirrel!” Lia answered, and Jack gently laid a small kiss on her bulging belly.

“I am going to be the best big brother, right Daddy!” Jack asked Ryan.

“Of course, little man!” Ryan laughed and lifted Jack onto his lap.

Lia shifted and looked around nervously.

“Why do you look like a thief scouting a target?” Ryan asked.

“I am on the lookout for Jack’s granny! Whenever she sees me, she is offering me one food item or the other. If I eat any more, I won’t be able to walk,” Lia laughed.
