Chapter 26: Rules of the Game
“I can’t believe you are still going through with the wedding,” Dawn said.
Lia looked at her reflection in the full-length mirror. Her wedding gown was undoubtedly beautiful. So many times she had heard people describe a bride as being radiant, however, she felt gloomy.
Her hair was done in an up-do, and a shimmering crown had been carefully placed like a cherry on top of the ice cream. She wished she could feel as beautiful as this dress looked but alas.
Those who would see her would probably marvel at the picture of this dazzling bride, but right now she was the reminiscence of, ‘never judge a book by its cover.’
How could she begin explaining to her sister why she was marrying a man who had spent the night with another woman?
“It is my wedding day today, and I do not want to be a disappointment to Mom and Dad again,” Lia said, hiding the real reason she was going through with the wedding.
