32 Two Lines

"So it's tonight?" Ady asked, eyes widened.

She nodded. "Yeah. I bought this mansion so I have to pay for it."

Everything was happening too fast again. She just made a deal with Nicholas awhile ago, and now she was in the garden of her newly bought mansion with Ady and Skylar, watching as the designers were busy arranging it.

"Are you ready? You've been waiting for it, right? When was the last time you had sex? Two years ago?" Skylar chuckled.

Ady slapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, stop it! The guy didn't have her permission. She was traumatized!"

Skylar laughed. "Call me insensitive, but we both knew that she wasn't. The only reason she felt like that was because she enjoyed it and that it wasn't Nicholas."

She rolled her eyes at Skylar. If he wasn't her brother, she would have already slapped him on the face.

"Enough of that. It's just sex. Not a big deal."

Ady and Skylar glanced at each other.

"Not a big deal? Really?" Ady raised her eyebrow.

"Just sex?" Skylar chuckled. "Don't lie to us. You still love him so it will never be just sex."

She sighed. "I just have to think of it that way. Even if I truly love him, it's too late. He's already married and I am just his mistress."

Skylar gently put his cup of tea on the table. "Sis, what's the real reason that you have approached him again? Did you forget?"

She looked at Skylar misty eyed, remembering her reason of becoming Nicholas' mistress.

TWO YEARS AGO

"So you're not after him anymore?" Ady frowned.

Mia shook her head. "Why would I? He's already married."

Ady laughed. "We're scarlets. Men come here to see us, and we give them the services they want. And most of them are married."

"Are you telling me to accept his offer?" She frowned.

Ady shrugged her shoulders. "Why not? If you want to get out of here, use Nicholas. He's married, but I don't think he loves Sabrina. That marriage was just for convenience."

"Stop, Ady. I don't want to hear about this again. Whether they love each other or not, it won't change the fact that he's married."

"Fine! But what's your plan now?"

She was unable to answer because Jean suddenly came to her room with burgers on her hands.

"What's that smell?" She asked.

Jean got confused. "Ahm…Burger? I bought them for us. Here's for you Ady. Bacon Cheeseburger. And for you princess, same but with triple cheese. You love cheese, right?"

She felt a little weird on her stomach when she smelled the cheese. It was her favorite, but the smell suddenly made her want to puke.

She didn't want to offend Jean so she still took it. Feeling that her stomach was moving upside down, she quickly ran to the bathroom.

'Blargh'

Mia couldn't understand what happened. She was fine a minute ago, but now she suddenly felt nauseous.

"You're pregnant." Ady exclaimed.

"W–What? No! I had my period—"

She paused. When was the last time she had her period? After that incident, she never had it. She thought it was because of the stress, but it happened three months ago and her period never came back.

"Jean, get a test kit to the clinic. Be discreet."

"How would I do that? Everything is recorded."

"Then pretend that it's yours!" Ady almost yelled.

She sat back on the bed without saying anything. Her heart felt like being torn again.

"What should I do if it's positive?" She asked, confused.

"I don't know. You have to decide that on your own."

Mia touched her belly to feel if something was moving. She knew it was too early, but she still wanted to check if there was a movement.

She took a deep breath when Jean rushed inside, closing the door behind her.

It took her just a few minutes to confirm Ady's suspicion. She let herself fall on the floor as she stared at the two lines on the test kit.

"Hey, it's okay. Come here."

Ady's soft voice made her cry. She tried not to shed a tear because she thought no one would care. But hearing her friend's voice made her emotional.

She cried in Ady's arms while Jean just stood a few steps away from them, also crying.

When her emotions calmed down, they sat on the floor, leaning their backs on the bedside.

"Do we have to tell Mama?" Jean asked.

Ady nodded. "We can't hide it anyway and she'll know what to do."

"What? Will she ask her to abort it?" Jean's eyes were wide open and she felt her concern for the baby.

"No! Stupid! Mama will never do that. She loves money, but she also likes children." Ady turned to her. "What do you want to do with that?"

She didn't answer Ady. She never imagined that she would be a mother at the age of twenty-two. And without a husband to be exact.

Ady and Jean left her to think. But there was nothing to think about. Although she didn't know the father, she would keep the baby and raise it on her own.

She laid on the bed as she gently rubbed her belly, staring at the ceiling.

"Everything will be okay. We don't need your father. Mom, please guide me." She whispered.

She wanted to know the man from that night. But she still had no idea on what she would do if she found him. Knowing that she's pregnant changed it. She suddenly didn't want to know who the guy was.

"Lia! Lia!" Jean panted as she entered her room.

"What is it?"

"Mr.Hudson is here and he's asking for you."

She was confused. Why would Nicholas ask to see her? She made it clear that she didn't want to be his mistress, especially now that she's with a baby.

"What do you want? I told you I will never be your mistress."

"I'm not here for that. I just want you to know that the men who took you that day were your sister's men."

"Ruby's men?" She exclaimed.
