8 The Stalker

"Is this her apartment?" Hyeon Jun sounded doubtful. He had parked his Toyota SUV in the parking lot of a luxury apartment complex. Thanks to the connection, they could freely be there. Even if they wanted, someone could give them an access card.

Due to chairman Lee's unsettling insistence, Hyeon Jun decided to meet with Mi-Rae. At least he wanted to silence his father. He was so obsessed with the issue of this mayoral election. Although the party had not officially nominated him— he felt compelled to assert himself as the most popular candidate.

His son, Jun, was already very popular. But Dae Woon was not satisfied yet. He wanted song Mi-Rae to be involved too. He knew the woman's face was often seen on television and commercials. Although he never actually watched the dramas she acted in.

"Then what now? Hey dreadlocks with glasses!" Hyeon Jun talked to his father's subordinate who had curly hair and wore glasses. He was the one who was the most eager to help Jun apart from the number one corn head. He asked Jun to visit Mi-Rae's apartment and follow His plan.

"We have to hurry, while the gossip is still hot. You should go to her and apologize for the trouble. Then ask her to have coffee together," said the curly haired one seriously.

"No no, that's too embarrassing," Jun had never been the man to ask someone out first. He himself couldn't remember if ever in his violent life had he actually dated anyone?

"Besides, if I visit her like this don't I look like a stalker?"

"Ah, that's why you have to do it smartly. My team and I have been keeping an eye on her for the past few weeks. Miss Song always goes out for coffee at her apartment cafe every Monday night," he said seriously.

"Wait a minute! My problem with my father only happened less than two days ago. Why have you been stalking her for the past few weeks?" Jun said suspiciously.

"This is my job, you know that many rich people want to know Miss Mi-Rae's schedule. I also took some photos of her and sold them for a high price,"

"What kind of photo? That's a crime!"

"Young master Jun, we are indeed a criminal,"

"Ah you're right," Jun still couldn't agree with it.

"After all, Miss Mi-Rae is a public figure. As long as there aren't any private or disrespectful photos she won't bother to sue. We also have our own rules for this. So young master Jun, you want this matter to be sorted out quickly right? Chairman Lee asked you to date her. Do you know how you're going to do it?" The bespectacled curly hair asked.

"Hmm, I don't know. Would she be interested in dating a man like me?"

"Why not? You're handsome, famous and accomplished. You're popular with girls. The difference with other celebrities, you are famous through your achievement,"

Jun scratched his chin.

"That's probably true," martial arts was Jun's only outstanding skill. He never had any academic achievements during his schooling.

"But your awkward attitude around womens can be a hindrance."

"What do you mean?"

"Miss Mi-Rae is experienced, she might not be interested in dating a handsome but nervous guy around a women like you, young master Jun," said the man again seriously.

"Then? This is who I am. You know that I've been involved in gangster affairs since I was a teenager? Do I have time to seduce women?"

"You know what women like now?"

"Like What?"

"Alpha males who are dominant in love affairs and dominant during night activities," said the underling again with a smirk.

"Really? Women like that?"

"Yes,"

"All women?"

"That's the truth, young master Jun. Handsome badboys will always be chosen over gentlemen."

"What's going on with Korean women nowadays? Doesn't anyone care about the norms of modesty and sincere love anymore?" Hyeon Jun complained.

"Young master Jun, you talk like priests. Remember, don't let Miss Song Mi-Rae know that you're a virgin and inexperienced. You are Lee Hyeong Jun, the dominant man who has many ex-girlfriends."

"Wait, let me think about this, are you sure?"

"There is no time, young master Jun! Look at There! Miss Song is already walking to the cafe!" Corn head number two shouted while pointing at a woman who was wearing a jersey and training pants and wearing a hat to cover her face.

The gangsters pushed Jun to approach her. Hyeon Jun was annoyed, they made it seem like all of this was easy. He had carried out various dangerous missions. There was never once in his gangster training that he had to be able to seduce girls. Because usually the gangsters were a magnet for women. They didn't have to do anything and the woman would gladly share their kisses and warmth with them.

Hyeon Jun had simply been engrossed in the martial world for too long, and put off interacting with girls, until he became too old for a one-night stand.

Hyeon Jun entered the cafe, then saw Mi-Rae ordering drinks. Hyeon Jun realized that he was famous so he wore a hat and sunglasses.

"I ordered the same as this lady," said Hyeon Jun in a cool tone.

Mi-Rae glanced at him and she immediately knew that she recognized the person. Mi-Rae had received her order but didn't leave immediately. She was a little unsure whether to rebuke or not.

"Okay, a glass of cold espresso without cream. Here, please take your order," said the waiter as he handed a cup of black coffee into Jun's hand.

Jun was a little pale, he actually hated bitter Coffee.

"Mr. Lee?"

"That's right, Miss Song, it was a coincidence that we met. I immediately recognized you from your short hair and Jersey. That's what you wore yesterday when you were shooting, right?" Hyeon Jun said confidently. He was grateful that his penchant for paying attention to someone could be useful this time.

"You are very observant, Mr. Lee. Would you like to have coffee together?"

Mi-Rae invites him to sit by the window. She smiled not very sincerely and felt Jun's presence around her apartment this time was a little unnatural.

"Mr. Lee, do you live around here?"

"I? Well not really—" he started to get nervous because he didn't think that Mi-Rae would ask that.

"I visited someone here," Hyeon Jun said improvising.

"Who? Your lover?"

"Not really, our relationship is quite close but not serious. You know what I mean," said Jun smirking slightly.

*You're a bad boy, Jun. You are a bad boy*

"Aaah I know what you mean Mr. Lee, you are so honest, I like that," Mi-Rae laughed.

Jun didn't know, but Mi-Rae's tone seemed a little sarcastic. Did he make a wrong decision by lying like this?
