Chapter thirty two
This was the worst mistake of his life, letting his past feelings for Caitlin resurface. He seriously didn't know what clouded his judgement, what possessed him to do what he did_ throwing his wife, kid and unborn child out in the dark.
Dario paced back and forth in the hallway, he was pissed at himself, he hated himself. He couldn't believe he was back here almost in same position six years ago.
"We came as soon as we heard" Ronnie said as he walked up to Dario with his wife Catherine
"I can't believe this Dario, I'm so disappointed in you" Catherine chided
Dario already felt bad and angry at himself for what he did, doing something without a rational thinking, without hearing her own side of the story. But hearing the words from Catherine's mouth, from someone he considers as the elder sister he never had took a toll on him. He also took notice of their kids absence, so he supposed they left them with their nanny.
"I swear I'm going to kill that son of a bitch!!" Elena bellowed as she stormed up to them with the intent of killing, crippling or even better castrating Dario.
Aaron handed a sleeping Ruby to Ronnie, he knew she deserved a good night rest having faced a very hectic day. He was quick enough to stop Elena from getting to Dario, he pulled her to his chest, she struggled for freedom to get her hands on Dario but Aaron held her firm and began to whisper soothing words_ it did help but it only calmed her down from killing Dario.
"If anything happens to my best friend and her baby, I swear you wouldn't be able to father any child again" every word she spoke held threat, one she was prepared to go through with.
"Elena-- " Dario tried to explain though he knew his reason isn't justifiable.
"Diane told me everything, so save your explanation Dario" her words were laced with disgust " the guy who sent you those things is Diane's Ex, Ruby's biological father"
Elena paused and then moved away from Aaron. " I'm sure she told you about him. What she didn't mention was his name--- when he reappeared after six years, he came with the full intent of taking custody of Ruby and taking Diane back. She thought she could handle it herself, stupid girl" she scoffed.
Why didn't he think of this? Diane is an independent woman, she hardly tells him what goes on in her head. She prefers to keep her problem to herself and solve it by herself.
"Who is he?" The words left his mouth before he could stop himself.
Then doubts surged in, in the picture she looked willing, in the video she sounded like she enjoyed every bit of the pleasure the bastard gave to her-- maybe Elena just wants to defend her friend.
Elena answered with a smirk as she stared directly at him " Morgan Stanley"
The revelation caused everyone present to recoil and go into shock or surprise mode. The enemy is not always far away.
He shook his head in disbelief as he looked between Aaron and Elena. He chuckled dryly " that cannot be possible, Morgan is my business partner, there's no way he's Diane's Ex" he tried to sound convincing but he was doing a hard job at convincing himself.
"The world is a small place brother" Ronnie said washing away the surprise from his face.
Dario still didn't want to believe-- he just couldn't.
" Mr Dario Simpson" the doctor called as he walked out of the ER
Everyone turned to the doctor with eagerness and hopefulness.
"Yes" Dario replied, panic washed over him when he remembered he was in almost same situation. He prayed for her safety.
"Can we speak privately or...."
"We are all family, you can speak here" Catherine cut the doctor off
The doctor looked to Dario for confirmation and it took just a nod to set the doctor in pace.
"I'm sorry but she lost the baby"
