He was avoiding her gaze. It was clear he wasn't as sure as he was before. Maddison was calm and collected. She didn't do anything wrong, nor did she have anything to hide. 

"I don't expect you to believe me. After all, it's my word against hers," She said as she shrugged her shoulders. 

Just then, an idea crossed her mind. Perhaps there was one way to clarify. In Margaret's version of events, it was Maddison who was kicked out of the restaurant. Not Margaret. When in reality it was the other way around. 

"Maybe there is," Maddison mused, "You have the phone number of the restaurant Atlantis Cove, right?"

"I do."

"Call Head Chef Abigail and clarify the matter with her," Maddison said as she leaned back in her seat and folded her arms.
