11 Chapter Eleven:The Hidden Secret About Giovanni Russo.

The clinking sound of the fork against the plate, made everyone realize how breakfast this morning in the Russo Family house was unusually quiet and boring. Well, it's all thanks to Giovanni who ruined the mood of everyone after what he did, and despite that he didn't come down for breakfast.

No one actually knew if he was at home yet, but Edward knowing about their deal last night did nothing nor say anything to anyone to let them know that he's back. If anything, he should stay locked up in his room until he comes to his senses.

Christopher Russo, watched the way Amrita, his daughter inlaw was picking at her food, making  him annoyed because he was one principled man that wouldn't love the food to be wasted.

A whole lot of people out there had nothing to eat, so he couldn't stand what she was doing just because she's lucky to be here, in such a family that could provide for her daily needs.

"So, I was actually thinking of going to the hospital today, grandpa? I know telling you guys about the child yesterday was uncultured, but then i had no choice." Joanna's voice made the once peaceful arena uncomfortable for Edward and Amira, because Amrita scoffed immediately at her words but didn't say anything for the peace of the family.

"Do whatever you like, Judith. As long as you and the baby are safe if actually there's a baby and you aren't lying to me." Christopher said, earning a smile on Joana's face that for the very first time he was siding with her on something, until his last words made the smile on her face die down.

"Father, seriously?''Micheal had to speak up for his wife, because that was a slap not just to her face but to his too. There's also Diego who was dining with them this morning, he didn't think about it before accusing his wife of lying.

"Enjoy the rest of your meal." Grandpa stood up, as the rest of them did, with Micheal and Joanna who had this scorching look on their faces, but they knew better than to do anything that would cost Diego's future in the family.

Christopher looked at everyone lastly, before stopping on his first son, Edward." Walk with me." He told him, not giving him any chance to say that he's not done with his meal. It's not like he had an appetite too because Amrita left the dining table the moment he left with him.

The old man stopped in his usual favorite spot in the garden, with Edward standing at his back. His head bowed down in shame, he knew what this was all about and before he could fully open his mouth to apologize on behalf of his son, the old man beat him to it.

"I apologize for any inconvenience Micheal's wife might have caused Amrita." Christopher Russo said, as he turned to face his son.

"Fa..father you don't have to do that, it's not like it's your fault." Edward laughed nervously, he didn't like the way this conversation was going. His father was a highly strict man and any misconduct among his family members was always cleared out by him.

Until Giovanni was born, just like Amrita did he has always sided with him in anything he did, and that made him question if he would actually side with him in this new proposition he had about him.

"I heard he came back yesterday, so why wasn't he at breakfast? Did you let him leave again without knowing.." Grandpa threw a lot of irrelevant questions at him, until he cut into his conversation.

"With all due respect father, Giovanni isn't a kid. But instead of worrying about his whereabouts right now, I have come to make an important decision that would benefit everyone, and as well help turn Giovanni for good." Edward said, and he relaxed, waving every bad thought about him not consenting to this, because he was given his full attention right now.

"I think i have surpassed the stage where i have to try to control a wild animal that doesn't want to be domesticated. But speak up, let me hear what it is you want to say." The old man pushed his spectacles up to his eyes, to see Diego from upstairs watching the both of them.

The young lad has always been a nosy one, his parents didn't know what they are doing harnessing such hatred in him, toward his cousin, Giovanni. But he couldn't overlook the fact that he's also his grandson and he's productive in work than Giovanni, who would rather spend his money lavishly.

"I want Giovanni to get married." Edward said simply, waiting for the remark to come from him but he said nothing.

"So? Had he introduced anyone to you? I heard he's quite popular among the ladies, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up  knocking up a whore that would kill the rest of us, Edward." Grandpa said, vexed that at this moment if he saw Giovanni right now he would definitely hit him.

"Actually no, but i guess if you go throw the files on your table you would actually read the insights i made about him getting married."

"Do you actually think an arranged marriage would keep him from messing around?" Grandpa asked, not much liking this proposition." Incase you didn't know, I married your mother for love and it's the same with you with Amrita. Why suggest such a thing for him? You would lose him forever if you do that, son."

"Well, I'm sorry if you don't like this father, but this is the only way for him to see he has responsibilities…"

"Which would have been inculcated in him, if you didn't take him away from his family and leave a fifteen years old kid all by himself in another state.''Grandpa reminded him of what triggered this behavior in Giovanni in the first place.

It's all because of him.

"I did it to protect him!" Edward shouted.

"Really?" Grandpa asked, coming closer to him." You think taking him away from here would erase the mistake he made in the first place. Maybe this is karma working in the favor of the man he killed…."

"Stop!!" Edward shouted, this time taking his father's hands." Please, I'm just protecting him, father. I did what i had to do as a father would do for his child, so please, pretend as if you know nothing about what happened six years ago, please."Edward begged him, to which Grandpa wanted to say something else but he held his hands tightly.

"Edward, the truth won't be hidden forever. I just hope you realize what mistake you did, before it comes to haunt us all.''Grandpa said lastly, before walking away from him.

Long forgotten was the idea about getting Giovanni to get married just to make him turn a new life once he sees he has responsibilities that don't involve only him, but grandpa bringing up the past, about the hidden secret Edward was hiding all made him wonder if truly this was the right approach for Giovanni's rebellious attitude.

But the big question is, how well is he prepared to make sure that the secret he hid six years ago about Giovanni, would continue to stay that way?

What if he starts to regain piece and piece of that memory about that night?
