Chapter 40: Set the Record Straight

*Sophie’s POV*

The past weekend with Nigel was heavenly. I didn't want it to end, but I had to return to work today.

I don't know what had come over me as Nigel and I rolled on top of each other in a field full of flowers. It was like a scene out of the Renaissance, with two lovers passionately making love in the beauty of nature.

I didn't pressure Nigel to put a label on what this new journey between us would be. I wanted us to let the moment define what we felt for each other, and God, did it feel good to feel his lips all over my body.

It's as if the retreat was a reset for us, and my vision has never been clearer.

"I'm so happy for you."

Addy handed me a cup of coffee as I grabbed my bag and prepared for work.

"Hey! Don't think you're off for faking stomach a stomachache," I pointed out.

Addy's lips were spread in a sly smile. "I want to know how in the world you and Nigel ended up falling asleep outside for half the night."
