Chapter 38: Sophie's Retreat
*Sophie’s POV*
I was looking forward to this one-day retreat with Addy. I had a lot of emotional baggage I needed to release. I grabbed my suitcase while grabbing a bag of snacks from the kitchen for our road trip.
"Ugh, Addy. You don't know how much I need this."
"Trust me, I do know. That's why I scheduled it," she smirked.
We placed the bags in the car and drove off. I felt tension releasing from my body as we pulled out of the driveway.
Addy loved listening to music on road trips and had her playlist ready. She turned on her music and swayed her head from side to side as "Easy on Me" by Adele began to blast through the speakers.
"Oh, hell no! We are not starting a three-hour road trip with a song about heartbreak.” I reached toward her iPhone as Addy tried to push my arm away.
"Sophie, if you want us to die, I suggest you let me focus on the road, and I can't do that if you try to fight me over the music."
