Chapter 19: Underneath The Stars
*Sophie’s & Nigel's POV*
George pulled to the front of the entrance of Nigel's mansion. The outside was immaculate. A golden waterfall stood in front of the estate with rose bushes around.
Nigel opened the door and greeted me as I exited the car.
"Welcome. That yellow and pink sun dress looks beautiful on you." He kissed my hand, and we interlocked arms as he led me into the house.
The hallway was filled with Victorian-style paintings on both sides.
"I would love to chat with you someday about your art,” I noted, admiring the works that lined the walls. One painting captured my attention as I stood before it.
"Ah, this is called ‘The Girl with the Pear Earring,’" Nigel said, standing behind me. Her eyes were intense and haunting, and I felt like they were following me.
We entered the main room, and I walked towards the grand piano facing the window.
