49 Chapter 49: The Surprise, Jealousy?

As I rushed downstairs to see what had happened, I saw Leonard staggering as he tried to grab onto something to hold onto, so I grabbed him by the arm and violently threw him onto the couch.

Leonard, thrown violently onto the couch with his glasses falling to the floor, became more alert and managed to focus his eyes squinting. He saw a beautiful face "ruined" by a scar on the right eye, which quickly reminded him why he had fainted.

"Connor, are you okay?" Leonard asked exaggeratedly as he used his inhaler to breathe.

Seeing Leonard act like this, he was worse than when he met Sheldon in the original series, a real chicken.

"I'm fine, Leonard, no need to panic. I'm still alive and kicking, no need to exaggerate," I impatiently said to Leonard.

Leonard, hearing my tone, became a bit scared before hearing a voice in the distance.

"Connor, don't be rude to Leonard, he's our guest," Paige said as she picked up the glasses that had fallen to the floor when thrown and returned them to Leonard, who thanked her.

"Thank you," he put the glasses back on and looked at Connor, who didn't look as bad as without the glasses, to Leonard at that moment. Paige was like a light compared to Connor, who intimidated him.

"I'll make a hot drink for him, you behave," Paige said sternly to Connor as she went to the kitchen.

The atmosphere became strange, Leonard sat on the white couch while being stared at by Connor, who looked at him intently.

"How do people treat you at school?" Connor suddenly asked.

Leonard, startled by the sudden question, was slightly surprised, not expecting such a question from Connor, and replied:

"Not very well. People call me weird, they trip me when I walk by and put yogurt in my backpack ruining my homework. Once, someone peed in my backpack and hung it in the schoolyard. Also, I have no friends to help me. Who would want to be friends with someone like me?"

"Pow," suddenly getting slapped, Leonard didn't expect that and was stunned for a while before hearing Connor speak. "Paige and I are your friends. Aren't you belittling us with those words? Also, you're only being bullied because you allow it. If you threw a chair at one of those jerks' heads, it wouldn't happen again. Once when I entered school, a guy thought I was easy to intimidate and messed with me. I took a pen and stabbed it in his thigh. He never messed with me again," I said proudly.

"People like us have a hard time making friends. I never had friends at school, not that I really care. The only friend I can say I had was Paige," Leonard was rubbing the area where he was slapped, considering my words, and said: "How can I be like you? Not afraid of anything or anyone?" He spoke with a bit of hope in changing his reality.

"Well, it's easy. Train, build courage and character, and don't let yourself be intimidated. The moment you do that, you give them the freedom to do it again," raising my fingers and counting.

Leonard became apprehensive and said: "I can't train, if I get too excited my asthma acts up, and I can't not be afraid, they're bigger than me," Leonard said, making excuses for himself.

"I have an idea. Tomorrow, I want you to come to my house, I'll teach you a few things," I said in a mischievous tone.

Leonard, seeing my smile, felt a chill down his spine and when he was about to refuse, I said: "Don't even think about refusing. As for your asthma, I'll figure something out," seeing that there was no way to refuse, he lowered his head, nodding slowly as if being intimidated.

At that moment, Paige arrived with the hot drink. "Here, Leonard, I hope you like it," I looked at what Paige brought and then looked at her.

"No use staring at me like that. It's for our guest, and you don't deserve much," Paige said as she sat down slowly next to me.

I feel that ever since I announced that she was my "girlfriend" at the Hofstadter's house, she has been very presumptuous, as if she actually were. That somehow annoys me.

While we talked, we heard a sound from the company.

"Ding Dong."

"I'll get it," Paige said before walking towards the door.

As I talked with Leonard and played chess, we heard a familiar female voice coming towards the door.

"Connor, how are you?" Marly asked, entering with Paige before stopping in her tracks and looking at Connor's face.

"Hey, Marly," I said as I nodded casually to Marly rigidly.

"Your face, what happened?" Marly asked.

"Nothing really important, just said a few things to the wrong person," I said, nodding towards Paige.

Paige, who was looking at everything with a smile on her face, froze before looking at Connor with a terrifying look.

"Don't mind him, Marly. He just got involved where he shouldn't have," Paige said, turning towards Marly, who walked towards Connor.

Marly sat down unabashedly on the couch next to Connor, completely ignoring her brother while looking at Connor's face and touching the scar, saying: "It's going to scar, such a shame to ruin such a pretty face, although it's still prettier compared to Leonard," Marly said amidst Leonard's inaudible complaints.

"Cough cough, Marly, weren't you here to pick up Leonard? He's right over there. I'll take care of Connor," Paige said with a smile that wasn't a smile.

Seeing that her attitude was a bit rude, Marly quickly recovered and pulled Leonard by the shoulder, saying: "Well, that was rude of me. I'll be saying goodbye then. Sorry for any inconvenience from me and Leonard," she said as she walked, following Paige towards the door.

As soon as they left, Paige returned and sat on the couch in front of me. "Jealous? How cute of you," I said sarcastically as I took a sip of coffee.

"Shut up," she said before getting up and going to her room. After making sure she couldn't hear, Connor said: "Indeed, cute."
