Chapter 33 Hospital

When Connor opened the garage door, he saw a familiar person lying on the ground. It was George, he was unconscious with blood coming from the top of his head.

"George!!!" Connor shouts and runs towards George, who was unconscious on the ground. I quickly approach George amidst the storm.

I kneel down on the ground, place my fingers on his neck to check for a pulse. Confirmed that he has a pulse, I put him on his back with hands on his stomach, feet together.

Everything ready, I grab his feet, making sure both knees are pointed upwards, step on his feet. I grab his right hand and pull, with the momentum brought, I put one of my hands between George's groin and successfully perform a technique I learned in the police (The Fireman's Carry).

Despite being stronger than normal people, I am 1.70 meters tall and George is almost 2 meters tall. But this slight difference won't affect me much, especially when saving someone I care about so much.

Carrying George, who weighed about 120 kilograms, I don't even want to know how much he originally weighed. I carry him to the garage, Paige, who was looking at me and George with concern in her eyes, was at the garage entrance.

"Move, move, move," Not caring that I was being rude to her given the situation, Paige steps aside watching me grab the blanket from under a table that Sheldon used to play with toy trains and bring George down, placing him on top of the blanket.

"Well, now I need to check his wounds. Paige!! Bring me the first aid kit, it's over there on that counter," I say hurriedly to Paige, who hears my command and runs towards the kit.

With the arrival of the necessary tools, I quickly check the area where he was hit. It was around the ear, causing a 2-inch cut on his head. It seems that what hit him was a slightly sharp object like a plate in the middle of the road or something similar. Luckily, the situation wasn't as serious.

"Connor, is he going to be okay?" Paige asks anxiously.

"I don't know, Paige, I really don't know. He may have suffered a serious head injury and may need a neurologist to take a closer look, but with this storm, I don't think we'll be able to get him help anytime soon."

So I finish the suture to stop the bleeding. When I saw it, my hands were shaking. Saving someone you care about is really different from killing someone you've never seen in your life, and I couldn't help but think.

Why didn't I stay with them inside the bathroom? Then George wouldn't have to worry about looking for us in the middle of the street. Why? Because, Why? At that moment, I didn't realize that my fists clenched and my nails dug into my skin so hard that blood dripped from them.

I think it was my arrogance that made this happen, because I'm a reincarnated, because I'm rich, because I know everything that will happen in the story from now on, all of this gave me a consciousness that I am God, but in the end, I am indeed nobody, I cannot raise someone from the dead, nor can I judge them completely. All this leads me to only one conclusion.

I AM NOT GOD... I am only a Human, subject to the rules of life. I shouldn't let myself be arrogant. From now on, I will pave my way and take care not to stumble upon stones. Not as a reincarnated person with a god complex, but as a human who knows his limits.

"Connor? Are you okay?" Paige's voice at that moment sounded like angels to my ears, snapping me out of my stupor and bringing me back to reality. At that moment, I didn't know, but I had just had a nervous breakdown.

"Paige, I'm not okay," I tell her as I shake my head and stand up. "I need some time to think," I say as I walk to the blanket under the table and sit facing George, who was unconscious, and Paige. At this moment, I had many things to think about and consider.

But one thing I was sure of.

An embrace enveloped me at that moment, and whispered in my ear, "Connor, I'm here," and buried her head on my shoulder.

I was no longer alone.

In the bathroom of the Cooper's house, Missy says to Mary, "Mom, Dad hasn't come back yet, is he okay?" At that moment, Mary wasn't sure of anything anymore. She hugged her two children in the bathtub and began to pray for her husband and to protect this house.

As soon as the storm passed, the Coopers left the house and went to the porch, seeing the chaos outside their house. They sighed in relief that this disaster had not befallen them. Little did they know, a small disaster had indeed occurred due to the flap of a butterfly's wing in Australia (Hi Australian folks, I know there's a percentage reading this).

Missy and Mary were anxiously searching for their father and husband. Soon, Paige's voice was heard.

"Mrs. Coopers, it's George, he needs a hospital!" Paige says as she runs out of the garage and runs breathlessly towards them. As soon as this sentence was spoken, everything fell silent unexpectedly. Not even the sound of birds could be heard, nor the croaking of frogs.

And then the Coopers went towards the garage and saw George lying on the ground with an improvised suture on his head. Seeing this scene for the first time, Sheldon and Missy were in despair. Seeing their father, their safe haven, like this was a reality shock for these little ones who hadn't even ventured out into the world yet.

"Daddy" x2 Sheldon and Missy scream and run towards George already lying on the ground. At that moment, Mary could be seen with her mouth open, with a million thoughts flowing through her head, and the same for Georgie. Despite having killed two people, they were two people he didn't know. He wouldn't be able to bear seeing his father die in front of him.

A few hours later at the hospital where Sheldon and Missy were born.

"How is he, doctor?" Mary asks anxiously.

"Look, I'll be honest with you, he was very lucky. He suffered a serious head injury and went a long time without treatment. It's a miracle he survived. You should thank God for saving your husband," At this moment, Mary, who was a devout believer, thanked the existence of God, and her belief strengthened to a level never seen in the original series.
