Ajmer Junction.

It happened when I was student and struggling hard to get a good job. I had an exam to appear in Ahmedabad, therefore I was traveling from Delhi to Ahmedabad. When the train reached Ajmer Junction I got down to buy some food as I was hungry, While giving the money to the vendor I dropped my only phone inadvertently.

After two or three minutes later I realised I should call mom to give update of my journey. I searched my phone in all my pockets but there was nothing except some changed money. I was very upset and ran quickly to the berth to confirm that I would have left it on my berth…. But no.. there was nothing. I told my co-passengers to call on my number and it started ringing… the phone was answered and the conversation went like this:-

He - hello

Me - Brother! Where you are talking from, this phone is mine, where did you get this?

He - I was traveling by Ashram express from Delhi to Ajmer, when I alighted at Ajmer junction, I found this on platform only.

Me - Brother please return my phone.(almost in begging manner).

He - Brother I have come out of station and I have luggage too.

Me - Brother I am a student and I can't afford a new phone and I am going to appear in a exam.

He - Ok … tell me your coach and berth Number.

Me - S7/32…Please come soon brother I am on the line.

He - Ok… I am coming.

I was thinking what if he did not come or what if train departs from ajmer station… and yes the train started moving slowly… I was very upset. And once again…I called him.

Me - Brother! Where you are, the train started moving from here.

He - What type of man you are, how selfish, I am coming… should I fly to catch you.

He scolded me badly… so I thought its gone phone is not coming to me, I disconnected the call. I was feeling helpless but I was standing on the door and my eyes were wandering for the person. The train was on the verge of leaving the platform… suddenly a very bulky figure appeared… he was struggling hard to run to catch the train… I thought it is a co-passenger so I invited him through my hand but he shouted - You are the person whose phone was lost. I said 'yes'… he gave me the phone almost loosing his control… there were tears on my eyes, I tried hard to speak something in vote of thanks but in vain..... he understood everything out of my heart and said with smiling face … Duwaon me yaad rakhna.(Remeber me in the prayers.)

It has been almost five years but I still vividly remember his face although I had met him for a while, hardly 10–15 seconds. One more thing I should mention here, If I were in the place of him I would not be coming to return the phone. Not for the sake of having a phone but for the pain I would have to bear for that.
