Initiating the Plan, Floorboards & A New Laptop?

Aha! I know what I will do! My dad goes to the toilet during the middle of the night maybe around like half-past 1. Oh no! It's almost half-past 1 & when my dad goes to toilet around that time, he usually checks my room if I'm using any electronics or watching Netflix in my room.

What's the time now? Shoot, quarter past 1. Okay, okay I can do this. Take a few deep breaths. Alright.

I head across the corridor and tiptoe as quietly as I can towards the stairs. I reach the stairs, I put my foot on one step. *CREEAK* The floorboards creaked so loudly, I took my foot off the step and hid in the living room. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. It got louder and louder and louder... *Ding ding* The doorbell rang. I wonder who that could be at this time. Someone came to open the door. It's the delivery man, and it was a package for me.

"Could you please sign here?" the delivery man asked.

"Alright."

I heard the sweet voice of my dear mother.

"Felix! Delivery!" shouted my mom.

Shoot, she calling me. I had to get back in my room via the back entrance.

"Don't make me come up there!" she shouted again.

She waited a minute for a response.

"Okay, I'm coming up there!"

*Thump!* *Thump!* *Thump!*

She was coming up the stairs, one step at a time. I ran in the kitchen and opened the door.

"1...."

I grabbed the rope ladder, located near the rose bush in my backyard and hooked it on the tree branch.

"2..."

I climbed up hastily, and shimmed across the tree branch and hopped in my bedroom window without making a sound.

"3..."

"4..."

I took off my clothes and threw them in my cupboard and changed into my pajamas.

"5..."

I threw my shoes into the cupboard.

"6..."

"7..."

I removed the cream I put on my face.

"8..."

I hopped into bed and pretended to sleep.

"9..."

"10!"

The door slammed open and the lights were turned on.

"Did you not hear-"

I was "fast" asleep.

"Felix." whispered my mother.

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes.

"What time is it?" I asked, half asleep.

"1:30am, sweetie. A delivery came for you. Shall I bring it upstairs?"

"Yes please.." I replied, my throat raspy.

My mother left the room and went downstairs.

*Thump!* *Thump!* *Thump!*

My mum was returning upstairs with a huge parcel.

"What's that?" I asked.

"I don't know, open it." my mother replied.

I slowly peeled the tape of the parcel and opened like it was my first every Christmas present.

"What's this?" I asked curiously.

"You don't know?"

"No..."

"This is your new laptop!" said my mother, happily.

"Oh.. thanks.. I guess?" I replied confused. "The laptop I have is already fine but I'm not complaining."

"Good, I'll help you set it up in the morning." she said, with a smile on her face.

"Night mom."

"Night dear."

And my mom gave me a kiss on the cheek and turned off the lights and closed the door. I was still wondering why the delivery man came at this time and why my mum got me a new laptop when the one I have already is alright. Oh well. I shut one eye, then the other, and drifted off to sleep.
