«A GLIMPSE OF HER PAST LIFE»

Death was not the end of the world. For me, it was only the beginning.

"Your majesty, we cannot let them get away with this. Not again."

His voice was sympathetic and filled with a tiny bit of hope. Just a tiny bit.

It was not enough to comfort me. It'll never be.

He went by many names; death, evil, black bird, the unknown, misfortune, magic, ill luck. But I called him 'Dolion'.

The deceit.

I was not looking at him. My eyes were shut still, so I presumed he was up in front of me, his red bloody eyes staring coldly at mine. He wouldn't understand. What was the point of it all? Fighting, trying to beat those bloody Keepers.

"Your majesty, listen to me. We can defeat them. I know so. If only we can just-"

"The Dragonstone is gone, Dolion." I heard my own voice spoke. Sad and depressed it was. Hopelessness was a terrifying thing to feel. "We have lost."

"But- but," Dolion couldn't speak. What was there to say?

My curse was indeed a dreadful one. No one could save me. With my own hands, I had brought an endless suffering to my life. My own father was only moments away to murdering me.

I would be reborn, brought back into this bloody land again. And he will find me.

And kill me again. Then history will repeat itself.

My fate was rather an unfortunate one. My eyes opened and I stared at my only true friend once more, before we departed. "You must find me." I said, and he nodded. Or did something close to nodding. Something birds would attempt whenever they made promises. "No matter what."

His glossy-black feathers shone a bit brighter in the cave, and it did so each time he was anxious about things. Curvy beak with bristle at the base, thick neck, shaggy throat feathers and thin fingers at the wingtips and Dolion resembled a witch's bird. An evil bird. I was no witch. He was no evil bird.

Voices grew louder and I heard him. He was ready to claim the life of the one he called his own blood. Is that what fathers did to their offsprings?

"Yes, your majesty. I will find you." He sniffed, making me imagine he was sobbing.

"Are you... crying?"

"Of course I am, your majesty!" He confessed. "I am tired of this. Everytime you have your life back together, he always comes and ruin things. That murderous man of a father."

I wanted to agree with Dolion. He was right after all. But not completely.

"Look at the world. It is broken, and only pieces of it remains."

"But it is not your fault. Men are evil, your majesty. You only did what was necessary of you, to protect yourself. You are not evil, my queen." He said, perhaps only to comfort me. It worked. "You are a good woman. And-"

Boom!

The end is here, my time has come.

My return this time, will be menacing. For I will spare no one. And I shall do to all, what they had done to me. Beware humans.

Beware.
